U don't think the Fujian is surprising anyone considering how much China is publicizing its progress. But not a word about its capability can be believed until the Fujian actually demonstrates that capability. The EMALS cannot be assumed to oerform even like USsteam catapults until at least one and then several aircraft are launched. Chinese EW and radar cannot be assumed to even equal US until actually used. Fujian operations might not even support 49 aircraft until shiwn itherwise. Shandong and Lianong similarly demonstrate difficulty lanching a half or even a quarter of theoretically max capacity. For at least the next couple years no one can really say what the Fujian mught be capable of and after 6years might still consider the Fujian little more than a curiosity lwith little to no military significance like the Russian Kuznetzoff.
