Yes, I have seen the documentary Ann. It's sad now that the little cub has died, but the reason for my comment was that from what I've read I understood that unless twins are born they leave the cubs with the mother to nurse. If twins are born they "swap" the cubs between mother and incubator because panda moms can't handle two cubs at one time. I'm sure the staff caring for this cub at Chengdu had a very good reason for bottle feeding the baby - they certainly are the experts on panda care. I was asking "why?". In any case, I'm very sad for the mama and all those at Chengdu base for the loss of this precious cub.

Mother pandas are vwry careless in caring for them.so they have to do the job for her. They tend tl injure their babies even if they don't want it from clumsiness.

Ręnz Chii Well pack your bags and go to Chengdu. They have animal rescue centres popping up all over the place due to such high tourism and more funding for ecosystem protection. In fact, you can be a panda nanny if you wanted! Meals, accomodation, and daily payments are provided even for part time jobs. I had my apprentorship in a Panda sanctuary as job experience to attend Ningbo University. Best year of my life with animals.

Sagarika Ras pandas are hard to bred even in their natural habitat(you can search about this online, it is better to have new information) . That's the reason these are endangered species and need human efforts.
