Before Mao wiped out all military ranks, there was also the ranks of Senior General (equivalent to a General of the Army), Marshall, and Grand Marshall. Too bad they didn't keep them when they reestablished the military rank.
I appreciate the video but would like to get a grasp on what these myriad enlisted ranks actually do. The officer ranks appear to conform with officer ranks the world over. It is the enlisted ranks around the world that are confusing because of the variations.
