Here's the full story of the chinese electric car scam and how it happened. Last video, I took delivery of my "electric supercar" from china, only to realize I had been scammed and lost $32,000. But at least I have a pink golf cart now. So there's that. I ordered this car last December, and just barely got the car 8 months later.
DO NOT BUY FROM Zhenjiang Zibon Electric Vehicles Co., Ltd.

Don't believe this story at all, it took me less than a minute to research this vehicle he wanted to buy. Back in 2020 the predicted price of this car, that had yet to be produced was $125,000. I do price comparisons on everything I buy, even on a can of tuna. I'm not saying everyone thinks like me but I am pretty sure that if you're buying a brand new car even in the U.S. you're going to do a price comparison. Now if you're going to buy a brand new car from a foreign country and have it shipped to you I would assume that would be the very first thing you would do, especially when you see a price of $29,000 for an electric supercar!? Keep in mind this guy thought he was going to pay $29, 000 that meant the retailer he was buying it from, because he was not getting it from the factory, had to make their cut. That means they were buying the car from the factory for probably somewhere around 20 to $22,000. A brand new Honda Civic cost almost $30,000!!!

I did scam baiting for over 2 years, almost every day (I purposely went after scammers to expose them) and was featured on the news for my work. I also blog about cars so here it goes. There were way too many red flags here. #1 being you thought you were getting what is a $150k super car for $31k. It doesn't seem they sent you any photos of *the* car that would be shipped. They sent you photos of *a* Qiantu at car shows and from promo pics and vids. The spec sheet (which the real Quiantu (shi-an-tu) isn't even close to being a real super car. It's more like my Chevy Trax if it were electric) looks like it was put together by a kid with little computer experience. The scammer asking for partial payment is a common scam thing. There were so many emails, the scammer was getting angry and just wanted anything from you. Asking for the wire transfer should have been the final straw. Then you sent them more money when they made up a bogus excuse?? When you didn't hear from them after the payments, that solidifies the scam. THEN he gets mad and wants immediate payment in full. Goodness, this is textbook scam stuff. I'm sorry man, you really fell for this hard and you're trying to convince yourself you were right (You keep saying "Oh that's standard"). The good news is, you got a Chinese micro car that may be considered a fun "novelty" here and could sell to the right collector here in the US. OR if you made this all up for attention, it's not convincing and I don't know how people like you have any money. Most people your age don't have an extra $31,000 to drop like this, so surely it's no dent in whatever you have. I feel bad for the elderly who are scammed out of their life savings. Apparently you have enough to buy a house in LA and drop $31k on a car over 6-7 months.

Any way, don't let this unfortunate case be your hatred build-up base towards all other honest and trustful car manufacturers in China. Cheers

I’m so sorry you got scammed. They are very convincing. It’s such a shame that people go to all the trouble to set up a fake website and change the rules to collect the money without delivery of the correct product. I’m sure they’ll just claim like they do with all the people they scam, that they shipped the wrong car and will make it right…and then ghost you. We should all email that company and just play them for all it’s worth.

Not to be one of those guys, but I definitely would not have gone outside of Allibaba (Especially after the Bike). They have protections for a reason and if they're not willing to work within them then the potential for scams goes through the roof. But I won't say "you should have known," that doesn't help anyone feel better. Everyone that has *ever* been scammed started off with the impression that they were safe. Heck it's probably why haters made assertions about the validity of the video, people get stung and they get more gun shy about trusting. I think from now on for anything larger than some batteries, I'd buy from a second party who has already gone through the importing process, the extra money you would spend buys you a little more peace of mind. So is there not options when making this type of purchase to get insurance against this happening? Excuse me if that seems like a dumb question but it just seems to me that this would be an available option? I have never done anything like this myself so excuse my ignorance but this seems like something that could be avoided simply by using your own shipping service that does verification at the time of acceptance of the package? I don’t know if that’s at all possible in this scenario but it seems to me that maybe some other options are available to you such as you claim to have friends in china who verified so if I was making this type of purchase with the amounts of money you described I would have transferred them the money and had them doing the purchasing and shipping for you and worst case scenario compensated them for their time in helping you therefore giving you the insurance that it was a legit transaction! A couple of things Inja, you seems to be a very nice guy so please don’t take this personally but: - Buying from alibaba do not imply buying from manufactures automatically - The company behind this guy Tony is not the manufacturer of the K50, this is just obvious...They can try to pretend to be resellers or indépendant dealership at best looking by the size of their operation but how could you ever believe they where representing a MULTI-BILION dollar Gov funded EV factory ? - Qiantu do NOT sell on Alibaba, why would they ? They will never do such thing since they are positioning themselves as a luxury brand. And Like I said, they are a multi billion dollars company backed by the Chinese Gov. And they actually have an official rollout to import officially the K50 to the world in the future, the USA included. - Do you really think that a $100k+ sportcar is manufactured for less than $25k ? and that anyone would make any profit selling it new for that price? You just don’t know how car manufacturing works my friend and what the profit margin are in this business. It’s just ignorance at this point. Qiantu is selling at lost (zero profit), and they will sell at lost for the next 10 years before reaching scale and having any sort of ROI (return on investment). AGAIN That’s billions of $ invested in R&D, factory and manufacturing...its will take years before any profit and they can do that only because they are backed by their government, its a long term stategy. It Can be a huge win for them or it can be a huge disaster, the future will tell for sure. - Just by the price of the listing it was an obvious scam 🤷🏻‍♂️ . I bet you can’t even get one in salvage condition for this price in China...I mean this car comes with a shit load of handmade carbon fiber parts...Too new, too high-end, too high-tech to find any deal anywhere on that car...and definitely no deal « new from factory on Alibaba » that’s delusional 🤣 - Next time, i hope you will do your homework better my fiend, was you did was not enough ;) hope you get your money back somehow. Try to get them backlisted as scammers by Alibaba and PayPal at least to get some kind of justice.

Thank you for sharing. I’m in the import/export business. Everyone is giving you a hard time, however it’s quite common to require funds be paid prior to the shipment arriving at the destination port. The seller can hold the Bill of Lading which would prevent you from collecting the goods from the port. When I sell goods to my buyers, we offer no “terms” meaning we require payment once the goods are on board. There’s a lot of trust and that’s the risk importers take. However they pass this risk in terms of markup to their customers. Sometimes even the biggest importers with tons of experience get burned by dishonest manufacturers, and there’s really no claims process that will get you your money back. Unfortunately you took the risk directly by going to the manufacturer. In the future you can look into a standby letter of credit and set terms in the LC releasing payment only when goods arrive at their destination. The LC assures you get the BL to take delivery of the goods and works like an escrow service. His contract clearly states payment in 60 days and after the car is on the road, but he changed the terms mid shipment. Unfortunately he retains all of the power since you guys are on a cash basis and operating outside of Alibaba protections. The money you lost is worth the cost to hire an attorney in China. You may need to make a visit to China to pursue the case but the threat of a lawsuit on what is arguably a scam on his part might be enough for him to settle. Do not let him get away with this.

Also check the company’s legal form. Ltd’s are often used for scamming, so are many other easy to set up legal business forms. Hope this helps a little. Greetings from Germany

First I want to say I feel you on many levels. As an American living outside the U.S. WHo has spent the last ten years trying to launch a tech company with seriously powerful life-affirming implementation, for the entire planet and a successful side hustle in digital marketing, I have seen piracy of epic proportions and it was only after I moved outside of the U.S. that I understood just how much we Americans take for granted. I can also see firsthand how the Chinese GOVERNMENT (I say government as I have found it's the government of countries that makes the country) "bad" and it's safe to generalize governments and NOT the people of any given country. There are good and bad people from all over the planet. Anyway, I know the media has historically labeled Africa as THE model planetary scammers and that is really astounding that in the west an entire continent is generalized incorrectly as I've experienced differently but in Ghana and many other West African countries, I've learned that they have established EV vehicles that are on par with Tesla Motor and in my opinion, exceed the luxury level of Tesla and Lucid. Why not buy from one of the many options you have and do a video with the same respect as you were giving to China (A country). I'm sure the prices are way more affordable and you would be received with the actual kindness and respect all foreigners receive when trading with Africa. The historical account of this is irrefutable. The The Innoson is my second fav, they make consumer vehicles for mass transit and all are EVs. The V8 engine, 1100 Horsepower (RPM), and a top speed that is estimated at 175 mph is RAAAAR But it will set you back $2Mil AND it's not an EV. But the point I'm making is you have a lot more options without being jacked for your cash. The English might be "broken" but you will come to know people who are in most cases gracious, kind and legitimate oh and ALWAYS HUMBLE!! Thanks for the content and Thank you for that AWESOME EV Cafe Racer!!! WOW #HeruVision

Reminds me of the "record deal" from "Burna boy records" I was "offered" with a "100 million dollar sign on bonus" and a "flight to London" for a "party"!!! All I needed was my bank information for "transfer of funds"

The style of the e-mails written by the"company" reveals the odds for a scam....no formal composition or even capital letters at the beginning of the sentences....That is also a suspicion.

My heart goes out to you over this ordeal, especially after getting a new house and the expenses that go along with that. Hopefully your wife is understanding and doesn't say "i told you so" too many times. I pray that some solution comes out of this and possible someone sees this video with the power to correct the mistake.

I did some research on the k50 sports car it costs $149,000 dollars . He got you with the oldest scam in the game . Because you wanted it so bad he played on that and instead of just getting you for the initial upfront money he got you for the whole 30 . It's really messed up you seem like such a nice guy.

There are many reputable sellers in China....and many scammers and counterfeiters as well. I worked for one of the top camera companies years ago in the technical department. Part of my job was spotting counterfeit products labeled as genuine products (mainly batteries and other accessories) when I say I saw some amazing replicas I'm not kidding. Sometimes spotting a counterfeit came down to a millimeter sized letter that was slightly crooked. Our accessories were labeled perfectly and always the same way. I was also an eBay seller years ago and sold cell phone accessories. I bought a bunch of 64gb generic micro SD cards. They checked out as 64gb on my computer. Three weeks into selling the cards I started getting complaints the cards didn't hold more than 4gb. I started checking a bunch of cards and they all checked out. So I did some research and found some companies figured out a way to code SD cards so they would read more storage than they had. I found some special software and started checking the cards. When I say I was upset at the results I'm not lying. I had to refund hundred of people and on top of it eBay suspended my account. So I do not have kind memories of Alibaba sellers. The sad thing is I'm sure there are many legit sellers... But they're screwed by the theives that are on there as well. I hope China does something about them eventually, though I wouldn't hold my breath.

No even then bro... it cost 10$ a year to get a domain name and email... $150 per year to host or $12/month... don’t even trust an email with a domain name either. I have to see them in business for over 3-5 years.

There were soooo many red lights in that arc of a story... Imean, the scammer was so good that The Inja is still using arguments trying to explain how this could be legit even after he knows he was scammed bigtime.... The lack of communication, severel moneytransfers, constant assurance nomatter what questions etc... He was obviously saying anything to get The Inja to transfer as much as possible.... I am actually amazed they didn't send a toy model car but an actual closed golfcart... The only silverlining to this story is that by him being a youtuber his initial budget for the videos and views etc will hopefully still add up even if he got the wrong car...

Dude, i ordered a electric golf buggy and i think they messed up. They sent me a super car and then they realised that they messed up and asked if I will send it back. Of course i did send them a car back after they sent me 10k for shipping. Cost $4.50 for a match box car and $1.95 for postage.
