😊 Hey guys! We created the Chase Car channel to give viewers a broad overview of the upcoming new cars from the top car manufacturers. We are huge fans of pickup trucks of all sizes: compact, mid-size and full-size trucks. So mostly, we will cover new upcoming trucks, but besides that, here you can find a lot of content about new sedans and SUVs too.
The Electric Vehicle wave sooner or later will become huge, so this type of content might appear on this channel from time to time. But as we are still on the way to becoming fully electrical, we mostly cover fossil cars from many amazing brands.

EVs are not about "saving the planet." They are about CONTROLLING the population's movement. No such thing as "Zero Emissions" either because the manufacturing and charging of EVs creates emissions, and so does the very toxic waste disposal.

So, one reason cited for Chinese auto makers to be bankrupting left and right was the fierce competition. You'd think that strong competition would be a good thing for Chinese consumers as it pushes prices down. However, if you're in the market for an EV in China, would you buy one of the small company offerings that just popped up at a significant discount? What if that company bankrupts next year? Who's going to service your car? So, your choices are still limited to the big manufacturers. :(

Funny part is many of those car companies were selling electric cars. Some Ev enthusiasts like pretend gas cars won because more money for evil capitalists. The reality more people wanted EV than gas cars but EVs beside being easier to operate, were laughable inferior back then. Max speed 20 vs 45. Distance ~25 miles vs ~150 miles. Twice as expensive and range murdered in cold.

Outside of niche markets, when has it been feasible to have lots of car manufacturers? Why would mass market EVs be any different? This sound like normal econ 101 stuff. Lots of manufacturers are competing forcing market prices down towards the lowest possible cost. Companies with higher costs than the market price are going out of business. Significant cost advantages to volume producers No real demand for extensively customized products over decent quality products with some options. End result is consolidation to a few big players. The same thing happened to manufacturing gas powered vehicles in the US one hundred years ago.

Chinese EV companys payed great effort to establish EV market. However, I must say it was the reckless challenge from the begining. EV is just an alternative, and EV does not reduce co2 at all. In the first place, EV has the a lot of issues such as electricity shortage in winter, very long charging duration, deterioration of batteries you already experienced in smart phones, no repairbility in the car accident, explosion risk of batteries. More over, EV has to charge the electricity from power plant. The power plant burns oil to boil water and turns a turbine to generate electricity so that EV ingects more co2 rather than ICE cars. Howcome, people is believing EV is good for environment? I do not understand.

Sorry but you have over complicated the EV situation. Yes, the Chinese Government (for a variety of reasons) decided that they wanted to transition away from ICE cars (internal combustion engine) to EV's (Electric Vehicles) They created a new category called NEV's (new energy vehicles) that included both EV's and various forms of Hybrids (ICE cars with small EV motors and batteries). They then promoted all this via large subsidies. Some direct cash, some tax incentives, some payments securing Bank loans and land/plant purchases. This program was meant to go for 8 years (I think) but got extended to 10 years and FINISHED in 2022. Since then, the BEV industry in China has been essentially left to their own abilities. They either sink or swim. Those that haven't managed to get up to "making a profit" are destined to fail. From around 90 SERIOUS NEV companies, the number will probably drop to around 25, long term. EG The whole battery swap proposal by NIO had been funded by the Chinese Govt. The future depended on NIO convincing other Car makers to also go with battery swaps. However, even though Tesla, BMW, Daimler/Mercedes and others all explored the possibility, they decided NO! So, the whole building of hundreds of Battery Swap stations was left to NIO. Obviously destined to fail due to the huge cost. (Also different battery types and therefore the need for multiple hundreds of different battery packs required at Swap stations. It just isn't economically viable.) The ones that survive will be the ones that have reached economies of scale in the specific markets they operate. Long-term, it will be the ones who are able to export to European and North American markets rather than confine themselves to China. Note: I have watched this as an Analysist since Tesla first mooted to build a factory in China. Cheers.

To anyone that studied this EV industry closely, none of this is a surprise, the lithium tech is NOT ready for prime time, it may never be, with too large a gap between Evs and ICE cars. The whole world are waiting for a tech break through in energy storage, for many applications. So EVs and even electric planes are just for those involved to get extra brownie points on conservation. Ultimately, it will be the insurance that will kill the EVs, we do not need another "internal combustion" car, one that would not survive a small crash and is actually more dirty than the old ICE cars once you factor in life cycle costs.

If the Chinese EV makers are going bankrupt, it's not because demand has fallen - It's growing - it's because they are too many. Technically speaking, the electric cars (EVs) are clearly superior to the Internal Combustion Engine (ICE) Cars. 1. EVs are simpler to make: Tesla, for instance, has reduced the number of pieces for the front part of the vehicle from 70 pieces to only one. (It’s the same thing for the rear part of its vehicles.) 2. Tesla, BYD and Volvo demonstrated that it was possible to produce profitable EVs; something legacy producers like GM or Toyota are unable to do. That’s why some companies stopped producing them. 3. The price of EVs is falling rapidly due to the rapidly falling price of their batteries (- 30% in 2023). 4. No cobalt or nickel are used to produce the most modern EVs. 5. EVs pollute much less than ICE cars, especially when they move. 6. EVs are more stable on roads because their heavy batteries are located at the bottom of the car. 7. EVS protect better their occupants when there is a collision due to the rigidity of their battery packs. 8. There are fewer than ten (10) moving parts in an EV engine compared to more than a thousand in an ICE car. 9. EVs accelerate more rapidly than ICE cars when their drivers try to overtake other cars. 10. The brakes on an EV last much longer due to their regenerative braking system. 11. The dashboard of an EV is much simpler to produce since almost all the controls are on the on-board computer. 12. There are almost no liquids in an EV (windshield washing fluid, battery fluid.) 13. EVs are roomier than ICE cars because their engines are much smaller. 14. Most technical problems on an EV can be solved ¨over the air¨ without having to go to a dealer. 15. EVs don’t need to go to the dealer for regular maintenance. 16. Everybody can buy an EV on the Internet without having to go to a dealer. 17. Recharging an EV is 80% cheaper than filling the tank of an ICE car. 18. Nowadays, there are multiple ways to produce electricity. (N.B. In 2023, solar panels are the cheapest way to produce electricity). 19. Nowadays, charging stations are everywhere while the number of gas stations is decreasing. 20. Contrary to ICE cars, EVs can be recharged at home. 21. EV owners say they have no problem with the autonomy of their vehicle. 22. If EVs explode from time to time, 200,000 ICE cars explode every year in USA. 23. Etc.

Point 12 is just not true as Teslas and many of the other cars I would think have liquid coolant for the battery and if that fails there are big problems. It has according to Tesla a radiator and uses Ethylene Glycol. Same as a car but only an engine seizure in that if it fails and not thermal runaway as can happen in an uncooled battery. Public EV charging is certainly not 80% cheaper than fuel or even cheaper nowadays. Not all people can charge at home plus you use a sneaky argument here as filling a tank of a car gives far more range in a fraction of time as opposed to charging a battery. Tesla entry level prices have stuck at a whopping £40,000 and still are despite these constant constant announcements of price cuts. Charging stations are everywhere but few of them and certainly not enough for a complete transit to EV. Whilst there are multiple ways of creating electricity they are unreliable relying on nature after the net zero switch off and there is little idea of how grid levels can be maintained when they are not performing. Whilst there may be less complexity in the mechanicals there is a whole new level of complexity in the day to day running these cars for those that can afford them.
@JeanJacquesNantel
@JeanJacquesNantel 5 месяцев назад
@@michaeld5888 Good comments. My point is that, when we compare ICE cars with EVs, EVs are superior to ICE cars and are improving much faster. 1. For instance, if the selling price of the average EV is still in the 40,000$ range, the EV manufacturers are all working to reduce their price, especially by reducing the price of the batteries. Tesla, for instance, is working on a 25,000$ EV. 2. The same thing can be said about the time it takes to recharge. Also, the number of charging stations is growing fast while the number of gas stations is diminishing, especially in a country like Norway where 90% of the new cars are electric. (N.B. Contrary to EVs, no ICE car can be refilled at home.) 3. If we can produce electricity with wind turbines or solar panels, we can also produce it by using nuclear energy, hydroelectic or geothermal plants, by burning biomass, coal, gas, petroleum, etc. 4. Inaccurate. China has scores of EV makers. Some are destined to fail as they fail to gain market share. So that would be an accurate portrayal of the situation. BYD is actually the largest EV maker in the world. This is because they make every vehicle possible as an EV: trucks, buses, SUV's, sedans, coupes, 18 wheelers etc. Warren Buffett holds a major stake in the company and has done very very well by it. That would be an accurate portrayal. The simple reality is internal combustion demand is still strong in larger geography countries and weakening in smaller countries and for a sub-segment of the market. As the battery tech evolves and charging stations proliferate it will continue to expand. It is more efficient, far cheaper to operate and maintain (they will go 1M miles with ease) and much much cheaper to build having fewer parts. While Detroit is raising ICE prices Tesla is dropping EV prices as its supply chain becomes multisource and global. Now lets get very real - because we are adults. Climate Change is not a lie - it is real and the impacts are existentially serious. As a species we are adapted to survive on a planet that behaves a specific way climatically. No money will fix the planet. If extreme climate continues to become more frequent (an avalanche effect vs slow change) we will have crop failures, flooding, droughts, freezes and endless summers at an unrecoverable rate. This will produce more human conflicts and mass migrations. So embrace EVs as a way to tap the brakes.

Actually will make a difference. COVID actually showed a spike in the right direction as the world shutdown. Earth climate of course changes but some changes - referred to as epochs - are existential threats. We have entered a new epoch - the Anthropocene. So we either use our brains and mitigate as best we can or we watch the planet we are dependent upon transition into a very unlivable place. Note that EVs have little tradeoffs and will last far longer than any ICE vehicle. Seriously - take a good look at Greenland and Antartica and realize the change is accelerating substantially. We may indeed be too late. Flooding, drought, crop failure, resource scarcity, mass migration etc. The balance we have enjoyed is becoming very different. Catch up. www.climate.gov/

Regardless of it being China or anywhere else, I can't see EV's being a viable choice for the average driver. They cost more than a gas powered vehicle, have less range, cost more to own, and the pending battery replacement will either shorten its life or end it depending on cost or the willingness of the owner to all but pay half the value of that car again when the time comes. Its a double edge sword, EV's are best for those you drive less, or shorter distances, they're best for those who own a home and have the ability to have their own charging station, yet the prospect of having to replace the batteries after what may turnout to be very few miles over a longer period of time make them 100 times more expensive to own even without the prospect of being at the mercy of road side chargers. When my gas vehicle need fuel, its a 5 minute stop at the gas station, if I drove an EV, I'd be looking at a two to eight hour charge time, and still likely wouldn't have a 'full' battery. After driving one on a 550 mile round trip, and realizing that its impossible to find the proper, or matching charging stations to effectively charge the battery without simply stopping and waiting around for your car to charge, or the fact that it added half a day to the trip and the vehicle still barely made it home, early completely dead. Worse yet, the fees charged by some independent chargers is criminal, one charge at an unbranded charge station, which refused to charge at the max rate, charged $35 for two hours on charge which only resulted in a 22% charge. I could have made the same trip in my gas powered, 25 year old luxury car on one tank of gas in one day, never having to stop for fuel or wait around for no good reason. At the very least, I could have easily topped off the tank at any point in minutes for less than all the charging station costs, and certainly without the enormous sticker price of an EV. Until we have EV's that can produce their own power, or can recharge as fast as we can refill a fuel tank, they are simply not an option. They would in no way be an option for someone who does not have access to a charger at night. For those who live in an apartment, or rent anywhere that does not have a full power charger, your at the mercy of random charging stations and long waits.

The person that did have that job bought what and paid how much in taxes. Then. Most taxi drivers give key types on locations of different businesses to go and visit. Will the AI do as such. My guess. People will get into the AI taxi and lose interest. Sit there with their mouth shut and never learn of other places to go to spend money. People do it today in a crowd of people. By only looking at their cellphone. That will lead to people not knowing how to you their month for communication. Being 50 of age. As a teen. I couldn't wait for technology. Now. What a nightmare. It all can go away and it wouldn't hurt my feelings.
