I am glad you aren’t snobby about Chinese turquoise, I was happy to hear your take on Hubei material! I have a lot of Hubei rough I believe to be Qingu and it’s hard, untreated and very beautiful, takes a great polish and comes in an amazing variety of colors and matrix patterns - absolutely comparable to some American material! Thanks for the interesting video, you have a beautiful collection!

Thank you. Turquoise does not recognize national boundaries. The story of the introduction of Chinese turquoise to the US market in the late 80’s is in Turquoise in America Part Two 1910-1990 available at turquoiseinamerica.com .

Persians take a lot of pride in turquoise! We see it as our national stone

Hello sir, I was wondering if there is any way I could set up a meeting with you so I could discuss some of the turquoise I have inherited from my uncle. My grandfather was a jewlery maker in the 70s and 80s and my uncle gratuitously Gave me a several hundred cabs and alot of rough and there is some I have been able to identify thanks to watching every one of your videos but there is alot I am unsure of and as a young jeweler I would love to sit down with you and get an experts opinion so I am not ripping myself off if you know what I mean. I would greatly appreciate it, and thank you for all the wisdom you are sharing with us!

While we thought the earliest turquoise came from Egypt there is now evidence of earlier discovery in what we know as Persia.

@turquoiseinamerica3164
@turquoiseinamerica3164 2 года назад
Instagram has several turquoise dealers. Best if you deal in person at one of the major markets like Tucson Gem and Mineral or before Indian Market in Santa Fe at the Eldorado Hotel.

Should / Could - every Turquoise be considered old stock, since it was formed Many, Many, Many Moons Ago in the Earth??? hehehehe
@turquoiseinamerica3164
@turquoiseinamerica3164 Год назад
Old stock is a marketing term implying that turquoise dug from the earth forty years ago is somehow more valuable than turquoise recently mined regardless of the fact that all turquoise has been formed between one million and twenty million years ago.
