I am part Chinese. I’m grateful that East Texas welcomed these refugees. How come they aren’t as welcoming to Mexicans at the border. I’m just curious seeking more understanding. I will read all sincere responses. Thanks.
The short version is that the federal government won't actually allow these people to become citizens or help Texans support them. So, rather than create a permanent underclass of chronically cheated, exploited, and desperate people, Texans try to have them enter through the border legally and have some sort of status. Problem is, there's literally thousands upon thousands of people trying to come in, a really messed up immigration system on a federal level on our end, and a few tiny towns on the border having to handle these thousands upon thousands with absolutely no financial (or any other type of help) coming from the federal government. Theft, property damage, and even violent assault are common, because desperate people do desperate things (we've had our home broken into, someone we know was violently assaulted and robbed). Add in unscrupulous human traffickers (who will do things like abandon toddlers on "our" side of the river, force people to be drug mules, and r*pe the women they're bringing in (we know someone this happened to)) and criminals taking advantage of all the mess to sneak in, and it's a complete and total human rights crisis that Texas isn't equipped to handle.
A large majority of migrants on the border currently are from communist Venezueala. All these migrants want are free housing/ handouts and they dont want to work 🤷♂️ The large influx of Mexican migrants was from decades ago. More in the 70s-80s
