Chinese journalist Guo Hua decided to give his professor a special gift as a graduation present. So he carved a specially inscribed Chinese seal (literally translated as a "seal stone") to Professor Rick Dunham, co-director of the Global Business Journalism program at Tsinghua University. In this video, you can watch this young master carve this one-of-a-kind seal that will be a lifetime keepsake for its recipient.
The Global Business Journalism program is the top English-language journalism program in China. A two-year master's degree program at China's most highly rated university, it is a partnership between Tsinghua, Bloomberg News and the International Center for Journalists in Washington, D.C. Students from more than 70 nations have participated in the program since its creation in 2007.
GBJ participants study in China for two years and take advantage of the resources and data tools of Bloomberg News, along with the academic resources of Tsinghua University and the expertise of veteran international journalists who teach global best practices. In addition to on-campus learning, the program has offered off-site winter training programs in Europe and summer training in Washington, D.C. For more information, see globalbusinessjournalism.com.
