China's shipbuilding industry giants China State Shipbuilding Corporation and China Shipbuilding Industry Company have announced plans to merge, creating a maritime manufacturing behemoth with annual sales topping 17 billion U.S. dollars.
According to China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the country's global market share has surged from 26 percent in 2015 to over 50 percent in the first half of this year.

Excellent !!! Excellent job China. I have seen in the past how the Japanese and South koreans compete in the shipbuilding industry. I know it is time for Chinese Shipbuilding to dominate in the industry and be on top of the shipbuilding industry. China should possess and exhibit better quality of ships and can build faster and more number as compared to the koreans and japanese. China can do it and China will win !!!

Big is not necessarily beautiful. Merger cannot make companies stronger and it has few chances of being successful. For the past few decades, big companies have been mired down in a sea of trouble due to its bureaucratic governance and management.
