Though potato is often despised as a not-so-good food, it's actually NOT TRUE. Potato is a great choice for carbs. The only issue is that the most common ways to enjoy potatoes in the West contain a good amount of butter, cream, cheese, etc. This increases the total calorie the dish (not a bad thing, it's just needed to be factored in when eating).
