I’ve gained a new appreciation for the Chinese gear industry for releasing fairly cheap copies of insanely overpriced hype beast gear (and close to the same quality).
Because a lot of the time they're literally the same factory that makes them Haley strategic's manufacturer literally sells the same stuff on their own AliExpress shop for much less
I have a multicam chicom rig from pheonix tactical. Sadly it glows like a Christmas tree under NV. However surplus cotton chicom rigs and cultural revolution repro uniforms are suprisingly IR compliant if you want IR compliance make sure they're advertising that they use US imported cordura. (Brands that do this include emerson and TMC)
As long as they use the original material thats IRR treated you'll be fine, but of course thats what everyone says. The trick is to get stuff in multicam, usually those are imported cordura while the other colors(like ranger green etc are just chinese repros that dont have irr treatment), its a good tell that they use imported materials too if the multicam option is more expensive than the other colors
@@swegmastur614 oh here's another tip. if you're on taobao get the stuff in the newest Chinese military camo (starry sky). If it is genuine product, then it is going to be IR complaint. No clue if China's domestic variant of multicam is IR compliant or not
A cease and desist from Travis Haley and Spiritus Systems will be in the mail asap. In all seriousness, Chang comes through with some decent stuff. If it’s one thing the Chinese know, it’s textiles.
I sent a link to a copy of a haley rig directly to them and they were like that looks like shit then ignored it. I've got the actual haley rig and the knock off did look like shit I just wanted them to know.
another thing China makes well is aluminum accessories. I've been running a knockoff Geissele mount on my AR for a year now (sorry Bill, I'm not paying $325 for a piece of aluminum). I also have knockoff Arisaka offset red dot and flashlight mounts that have taken multiple drops with no issues. Seems like if it's a simple piece of aluminum with no moving or super tiny parts China can make it just fine.
Very curious about the IR laser device. Always looking for an alternative to the grossly overpriced mil contract products on the market. I don't see why it's so pricey to produce a damn laser pointer with a sturdy body that holds zero. It's really simple technology these days.
Interesting video. Gear made in the North America and Europe is expensive. Some Chinese reproductions and whatnot are pretty decent quality. It's often a gamble whether or not a piece of gear from China will be good. I mostly buy gear made by small US companies, so it's very pricey. I've been tempted by some of the clothing made in China and other Asian countries. I'm just not sure of the overall quality and NIR compliance. If I had to guess, a lot of that stuff probably glows like a Christmas tree under IR. But then again, so does a lot of US made clothing.
Its probably fine honestly. Tactical gear is obscenely overpriced. Look at the kydex market as an example theyre selling less than $20 worth of material for over $100. Its stuff you can make in your garage if you have some basic tools
@@burtbiggum499 I've recently been looking at clothing made by companies like Helikon Tex, Pentagon and Ur Tactical and wondering how the quality is. I wouldn't call this stuff inexpensive, but it's cheaper than American made clothing.
Two other things from Ali Express that are pretty good are the fake Magpul slings (MS3,MS4), I have real Magpul slings and I honestly cant tell the difference, and the fake Surefires from WADSN.
I have been running chinese gear for years. They often use Cordura material and the prices are very good. Quality is also very good and sometimes you cant tell a clone from the real thing. For example i was running a Crye CPC clone that came like 150$ made from Cordura. The only negative i found was the cheap plastic buckle that i replaced with a cobra buckle. No reason to pay 700$ for a original one in my opinion.
Back in the day they copy it for fun and tacticool people because Airsoft is banned in there but people get around the law marketing laser and gel blaster which increase the needs of quality of gear costing them to be very good, I've used both 2010 gear and 2018 Chinese gear, they actually holds
If you’re referring to that big one on his helmet, it’s an MS-2000 IR strobe, pretty old, but bright af under night vision, and weighs a little more than the new hotness Helstar 6 IR strobe which is smaller.
I bought a JPC clone off Temu and I won’t lie, besides smelling like a fucking fish market, it hasn’t failed me yet. Probably lights up like Times Square under IR but fugg it
