Chinese Village Locals Instantly Fall in love with me for Speaking Their Language. I visited a rural Village and spoke the native dialect with the locals. They were full of love to see a black man speaking their language.
This is part two of the video : Chinese people see a black man for the first time speak perfect Chinese.
As a black in China i am always overwhelmed with the friendliness of the Chinese people. I had a complete taste of their village life and how much they value people who speak their native language. It shows how much respect you have for their culture and they accept you as one of them.

That Chinese salon was actually very impressive. It's not like America where every hair type/grade/race can pop into your shop at any time. I imagine you are one of very few black people that have even passed his shop let alone gone inside. But he still had decent knowledge of black people's hair and dreads. That's a true professional right there.

Dude, every time I look at your videos, I catch myself with a smile on my face throughout. The western world is taught that China is different. The Chinese people seem to be such beautiful, accepting, caring, and welcoming people. I would love to visit there one day.

I visited Beijing and Shanghai about 11 years ago. It was an amazing experience. Everyone was so friendly. After a few days I felt comfortable walking all hours of the day and night and even figured out the bus and train systems even though I don't speak Mandarin. People have so many preconceived notions about people usually obtained from news, TV, social media and movies. I found that the people I met and spoke to in the country had the same hopes and aspirations (and unfortunately fears) as we have in the US. I wish everyone had an opportunity to experience other cultures and countries. The world would be a much better place. Thank you Mike for sharing your experiences.

When you go to another country, it is nice to learn the people's language. It shows you appreciate their culture and their language. The people will like you, appreciate you, and interact with you friendly. Nothing creates division and suspicion among people like language barrier.

how long did it take you to learn? for me it is very difficult to discern the small changes in the symbols in mandarin, same for korean; and some korean vowels are sounding really similar so its also hard to differentiate practice and time i suppose

When humans recognize how similar we are, things get better for every one. The problem is when you think you are superior to others with out being not superior like most Canadians are. Languages help us get along. Learn new language that is not English or French.

Well, this is a lot of fun! Finally at 17:00 or so we see: A really good steamed bun shop, with what look like Mexican Tamales! Looks so familiar, but it can't BE Mexican food? The Bao looked great, and a little unusual, I would be so happy to find that little place. We have nothing like that here! Then there are the liquor stores, making it on the spot, and just everything everywhere. Even small cities in China seem to have plenty of life, plenty of snacks. Little kids running up and then running away when you look at them are so cute and funny. There are places where they don't like foreigners you know? In pre-revolutionary Tibet they used to kill foreigners out of hand I have read. Now tourists go there....
