This is always my question regarding whether or not CC is actually growing the game - is her presence raising the profile of the actual best players in the league or are they still relatively unknown by the new casual fans? Based upon the topics of debate shows it seems like people rarely talk about the actual basketball performances and more about drama surrounding CC. I think everyone agrees that she’s a great prospective talent and I think she’s earned, on some level, the money/attention that she gets. I guess the question comes down to if CC isn’t involved and the viewership is t present are they fans of the game or her? To follow up is that even actually organic growth?
She's growing the game. I got free wnba playoff tickets last year as a part of my NBA half season tickets. Brought my daughter and it was fun. But the 2nd deck was closed. So that means adding the wolves ticket holders, they couldn't sell out the 1st deck. It was a playoff game. So a playoff game no second deck, and I got them free and never supported the lynx only the twolves. Now if Clark came it'd probably sell out, with second deck and doubt those tickets would be free for us much less a playoff game. And lynx been much more successful than the wolves at winning. Clark has the eyes, the vets don't. Vets just don't want Clark and do it their way. USA Clark jersey sales would've been crazy.
Its her fans watching her still waiting for her to win a championship. And her hater watching hoping she fails so they can continue to complain and hate on her.

The issue that I as a former female athlete have with Unc is, you continue with the rhetoric of your intent to push the WNBA as a whole however your focus is only on Caitlin Clark. Your guest pointed out the dominant play of Aje Wilson and you failed to follow up with a remark referencing Aje’s greatness. You , Unc with this platform, can do a better job highlighting other great players in the WNBA if in fact your goal is to help push the trajectory forward. From a meritocracy standpoint Chiney is correct, as there are better players than CC. But she’s wrong about everything else. The wnba being joked about etc that she alluded to doesn’t have to do with stereotypes, it has to do with poor play. For decades, the skill gap between the stars & others is monumental where some of the fundamental mistakes are hilariously atrocious. Finally there is this new spotlight that the WNBA has to capitalize on. Caitlin being on the team has everything to do with momentum for the sports attention and growth. That being said I personally think they should have had CC, Reese, Brink etc on the team. That would have been huge media and attention for the squad and the sport. USA is going to beat everyone by 50 use the rookies for garbage time to build some attention on a world stage.
