The thing about Chino now is that since his voice is so fucked from injury, age, drugs, bad health, etc. he can only very rarely pull off the screams he used to. The clean vocals are still on point but the heavy screams aren't there. However, he still screams but just differently. I saw Deftones recently in June and for example, during My Own Summer instead of the kind of deep, guttural screams before "shove it shove it shove it," he did that awesome, piercing banshee shriek thing and omfg it was amazing and it just added this whole new vibe to the song. Hope he focuses on his health more in the future than he did in the past lol. Great dude.

Daddy I think he can still pull his screams off when he needs to but sadly you are right, screaming and other difficult vocal styles are very demanding and require good health proper technique and lots of practice. Plus chino uses one of the most dangerous screaming styles so if he hits them wrong he will damage his cords. False screams and fry screams are the ones he uses

Daddy I’m glad someone is actually reasonable and has their shit straight instead of just saying “he always sucks dick live” or some dumb shit, he sounded great earlier on but yeah bc of drugs, improper technique and age his screams are way more taxing and harder to do for him now
