Memorial Day festival in Manteca. Tons of military stuff; choppers, humvees, bombers, etc. This chinook helicopter took off right in front of us. This thing was loud and just plain awesome.
They are angled differently. If you ever see a chinook up close and personal while its off, you can actually see theres a good chuck in space the blades have in between one another. It just looks crazy because of the spinning.
yeah my buddy used to work on these at the boeing plant. he and 7 other guys were riviting on the inside of the fuseloge. he told me one of the guys farted, and 6 guys flew out of that fuseloge. this is the honest truth. no bs
One is slightly higher and they also share a common gearbox so the blades intermesh in their rotation meaning that unless the gearbox fails they can never come in contact with each other.
