Married to young, love never left. Through bittersweet heart aches and joy, their lives came back together when HE was 43 and SHE was 38. Again, they are together, although it hurt. It wasn't a choice they expected, and with mixed emotions they began to start their relationship again. AND happiness abounds. She has always respected us with great love, early morning coffee talks... we are thrilled. But like them, there was sorrow, yet now we see the real joy and love, we all know this was something called mercy. When SHE began her wedding vows, the judge stopped what he was doing... he realized this wasn't another couple, or another marriage - he was witnessing a miracle of high costs. His face was interesting as he is slowly realizing "this is a different love story". A small, but intimate wedding at the courthouse on the day of their first wedding anniversary, leaves little doubt that love never left. A good day. And now, another daughter who loves, respects and cares for us has helped the slight healing deep in my heart. Easy to talk with, eggshells are not felt under my feet, I realize that God was good to me also.
Many do not know the full story. Or have added their own parts. This young lady has cried at times when she feels she has drawn a line in our family. But that was not her choice. We all make choices that we will be thankful for or regret. The humbleness of being back "home" is a beautiful thing to see. Knowing the real reason for all that has happened in my sons' life for a while, breaks my heart, and happiness wells up for what he has now. Nothing takes away our struggles, but when the right balm comes along, it heals enough to have great joy!
