It didn't get there legally, by the pharmacy. It got there because some drug dealer, put fentanyl in with some other base to give it a boost. Then his dealers sold it on the street as Percocet.

Because Cartels purchase the raw products, pill presses, custom die sets that replicate recognized companies, packaging machines etc all from China.. It's not just your country effected..

Then you know fentanyl is usually prescribed in transdermal microgram patches due to it's incredible ability to suppress respiration (10,000 times more potent than morphine) to the point of respiratory arrest. They can take commercial meds and just 'dust' them with fentanyl powder which is easily enough to cause a respiratory arrest, then if left untreated progresses to cardiac arrest.

@@glorialegault6696 how old do you need to be before yo know right from wrong? Let's set an age. I will take 12. So, any person that takes a drug at age 12 or older we simply pick up and put in a trash can. Why should society invest time and money on a person that thinks so little of themselves. My own daughter is a drug addict. No idea the number of times she has woke up in a hospital. No idea the money spent on her. No idea the money businesses have lost so she can spend it on drugs. Not her fault, she has a disease. No cancer is a disease that one has through no fault of the own. A drug addict made a choice. Society should be held responsible.

Dude there's a lot of innocent young people doing exactly what many many of us were doing at that age, just partying plain and simple, that are dying because they popped a pill that was meant to kill them rather than give that party for the night high. Most people can relate to that as it's a simple fact. If the border wasn't compromised like it is this shit wouldn't be happening on the scale it is. This administration and this president, imo, has caused more human suffering outside of war time than any other in the history of this country. Tell me I'm wrong and back it up with facts please

The problem with this logic is that some people, primarily children, and those predisposed to substance abuse, do not have a fully developed brain in that sense, and do not have the same self preservation instinct that you may have. It's harder for them to understand and process risks, especially long term risks. The other problem is all the lies and hysteria that surround some drugs. I was born in 1981 and grew up in the just say no and DARE generations, where we were taught ridiculous things like marijuana was equivalent to heroin, and told stories about people who tried marijuana once and had a bad trip and now forever think they are a glass of orange juice so they cannot lay down because they are afraid they will spill out. As we grew into adolescent years and we discovered that the majority of what we were told about drugs were pure lies, it made us more willing to experiment. Children today are primarily faced with pharmaceutical drugs, like opioid pain killers and benzodiazepines. It's harder to understand that something you may have been prescribed by a Doctor, or seen your parents take for years, could be dangerous to try one time, unaware that what they are receiving, no matter what they think it is, it's actually fake and chock full of fentanyl. Many times it just takes that one incident to cause their death. Children old enough to be taught DARE and Just Say No programs should be taught the plain truth about the drugs they will encounter growing up. Do not lie to them, tell them the whole truth, and tell them how to handle emergencies if they find themselves in a bad situation. But the bottom line is we have to stop the flood of fentanyl that is being pipelined into this country, if you're waiting for addicts to do the right thing and sober up to stop the demand, then I'd ask you what kind of drugs are you on?

@@ifirespondiamstupid7750 I'm not advocating for zero accountability for drug addicts, I'm simply saying we shouldn't count on drug addicts to solve the opioid and fentanyl crisis on their own by simply stopping using drugs and eliminating demand. Accountability is something that you cannot achieve when you're dealing with a crippling addiction that consumes your life, you must first get clean in order to achieve some mental clarity, and then begin working on your problems. Getting clean is nearly impossible when you're physically and mentally dependent on these drugs that are cheap and plentiful. Especially with the way many of these cities have decriminalized these drugs and are allowing the sale and use of drugs right on the public streets. They are basically enabling these addicts to destroy their lives. Then when you consider the mortality rate of fentanyl, many addicts never even get the chance to get clean before they end up overdosing. It's impossible to learn accountability when you're dead.
