@ChipoloTM In the product page is written "... Android devices that are part of the Find My Device network.". As far as I know, "Find my device" exist in Android for many generations, so in theory it should work with most Androids. But below the text there is an image shaped as an application button from the play store and writes "Works with Android Find My Device". When I looked for this application on my phone (Android 13) it wasn't installed, and I had to install it to have a look at what it does. So I am a bit confused if the Chipolo point needs this app installed on the random person walking next to the device or any phone with Android that has by default enabled the Find My Device as a service can work?

Google has not shared some of those details yet, and since Find My Device app is their product we have to wait for the update but you can take a look at the articles summing up the currently leaked information - e.g. www.techradar.com/phones/android/android-find-my-device. In the second part of the article you can see screenshots of the settings under "Find your offline devices". This is part of your phone's system settings and not part of the Find My Device app. This means that the network should be available to most Android users regardless of the Find My Device app being installed or not.

Hi, Chipolo Point finders are available for preorders on our webpage. Unfortunately, we don't know yet when we will be able to ship it because Point finders only work with Google's Find My Device app after Google rolls out the new location tracking feature. At the moment we are waiting for Google’s Find My Device app to be updated, and then we will start shipping the products. We will update you as soon as we know more.

Hi, Chipolo Point preorders are currently set to ship out in mid-July, but unfortunately, we cannot say the exact date yet. It depends on the Google’s Find My Device app roll-out schedule, which is not yet confirmed by Google.

Hi, Chipolo Point finders are item finders that help you find misplaced or lost keys, wallet, luggage, passport pouch … if you lose it hundreds of millions of Android devices that are part of the Google's Find My Device app can help you update the location of your item. But we do not recommend tracking people, pets, or cars with it since it does not offer real-time tracking like GPS. We suggest looking into GPS devices for that.

Yes is the answer to the question. Leave the tracker in your car and you will be able to locate it if someone with an up to date android phone with Bluetooth on passes by. Unlike Samsung tracker this will work with all android devices with the up to date os. Air tags and Samsung tags only work with nearby iPhones or Samsung phones so the potential is far more limiting than with this device

Hi, yes, if you put it in your luggage, the whole Android network that is part of Google's Find My Device app will update the location of your luggage, so you'll know the location of your suitcase even if it's lost in transit.

Devices are continuing to join the new Find My Device network, and the network will continue to grow, which will also help improve lost device findability. Google encourages Bluetooth tag owners to change their Find My Device network setting to “With network in all areas” (support.google.com/product-documentation/answer/14796936)

I'll never buy another Google product (Google wouldn't know how to make hardware if their life depended on it), but if this tag works with their online service I'll probably get it.

Only One Point will work with Google Find My Networks. As of 28.07.2024 doesn't work yet

No worries, the support for our products has been part of Google Play Services and the Find My Device app for a long time, but Google enabled the necessary parts (remotely) only recently as part of the Find My Device network rollout. So you can rest assured that the Point products will work with your phone as long as it runs Android 9 and you have access to Google's services.

@@lionett7064 Haven't received them yet, but that's due to Google getting the updates ready. Google have said the system should be ready some point this Autumn. Once Google get the system ready, Chipolo will ship them out.

Hi, metal is quite good with blocking wireless signals, to what degree greatly depends on the type of metal and the thickness of the encasing, etc.

Hi! Chipolo is a Bluetooth tracker that can help you find your misplaced items. For tracking stolen items, we would recommend a GPS tracker though, since they can do real-time tracking at bigger distances, something Bluetooth trackers can't do...

@@joschka2075 Yes, Chipolo Point is working with Google’s Find My Device app and if you lose your item the whole Android network that it’s part of the Google’s Find My Device app will help you update the location of your item. However, Chipolo Point is for finding lost items than not stolen ones.

Hi, the battery on the Chipolo ONE Point is replaceable, it lasts up to 2 years after that you can change the battery yourself. The battery on the Chipolo CARD Point is not replaceable. After it gets low you can enter our renew and recycle program and you can get a new one for half the price and send the old one back to us free of charge so we can recycle it.

Hi, no the button is there only for the initial connection. Yes, Chipolo Point products are the same size as Chipolo Spot products.

Hi, Unfortunately Chipolo ONE and Chipolo ONE Point are two different products. At the moment we do not have any upgrade or trade-in program available.

They need to update the hardware inside, and that's something you cannot get with android. Just get a new one and live on with life
