I’ve worked at Chipotle and will attest that this is completely on management. They check cameras and weigh meat to assess how much food is being used per serving and workers get in trouble for giving out too big portion. I know, because I was one of those people who got in trouble. Ya boy don’t skimp
Funny how inflation doesn't effect their revenue profits. Profit margins remain the same but every fluctuations in inflation is dumped on the heads of customers. Just boycott all these big fast food chains.
@@lordjaashin that would require people to learn how to cook. quite a huge challenge for most people nowadays apparently. they make the bed they lie in.
@@manaspradhan8041 fingers crossed that doesn’t change, this just came up recently too, I was recommended various rice based recipes I hadn’t considered as well as such as you said, a disclaimer regarding adding optional protein, if budgets and markets allow haha what is happening 🫠
They won’t even give you a refund if your order is fucked up. They give you store credit. We stopped going because three times in a row our order was entirely wrong and they just kept giving us store credit. Like give me my money back so I can go to Qdoba!
Gotta hit up the right spots, and in person helps for sure. Chipotle is slammed a lot so online orders are being "finished" just quickly.. as, they are overwhelmed just from in person orders
Fast food places all micromanage things like "beef efficiency" and crap like that. Managers will yell at employees to short portions lower the recipes call for .
Most of my online orders are sized right. I'm a vegetarian, so it's difficult to find fast casual options. With their rewards and credit card gift card offers, I get my veggie burrito bowls for about $11 and it's enough to feed 2.
I work for Chipotle...there are number of factors. The employees may be tired or lazy to give correct amount of food. That mainly is the job can be stressful! Second, the portion size is strict. Customers assume stuff too, in which they really don't know about the business side of things. The bowl technically shouldn't be packed but near the rim. The slots of food, is for multiple customers, not 5 big scoops. The grill person can take its toll too if employees are giving way more packed food. Plus, there is a budget or review at the end of the day, what was gained, and what was loss. Then the corporate would congrats the team or write them up! So, this is the true information here when people gets confused or really don't know of this inside job.
Well, you shouldn’t raise prices and then simultaneously reduce customers’ portions. The stores here in California are really cutting back on portions, it’s crazy
@Tendertroll1 it depends on what's going on with the stores. Not every store is the same. There is a booklet too that the crew sees. I have questions on that! It could be possible they are doing what is in that booklet.
Had a chipotle open near me recently. Portion sizes seem normal, but their chips are like salty corn flavored fruit leather. Always way over/undercooked to the point that they're chewy as hell.
I worked there when the original founder was on the board, it was one of my funnest jobs cuz they actually cared when they moved to a board and all the board wanted was numbers that’s when it turned into this shit we have now. I left as soon as Steve Ells left, I saw the writing on the wall.
Every time I order chipotle through the app I get double meat and ask for extra rice, and beans with basically everything on it and it’s completely full. Granted it’s gotten expensive but so has every other restaurant
I still think they are the best deal in town and pick up food at least once a week. How can people say the portions are small? I'm 5'10" and 180 pounds, and one order easily feeds both me and my lady. I don't understand... are people really that gluttonous?
I think the chipotle i go to is a little smarter but also very scummy. Ive noticed that the portions are the same overall but its a higher percentage of rice and other cheep stuff like letus. I also noticed that their sauces are more water then anything else now. I got a buritio for the first time in maybe 2 years and that thing was soaked.
I've tried ordering online, and then went in person to order the same thing and see if there was a difference. The online order was skimped so bad compared to the online order. I went in to complain and the manager looked at the person who message my in person order and for mad at them. They completely missed the point. I love chipotle, but I haven't gone to that one since.
I’ve been frustrated because the last 5 times I’ve been in they have been out of chips or something I get on my bowl like chicken, corn salsa, and sour cream. Haven’t been back since. 😢
I had Chipotle once and realized just how mid it was. The burrito lasted me until the next day, but it wasn't worth it. This was back in 2018. Im not sorry about this, but yall can just stop going. Unless you live in the only state where Chipotle is literally the only source of food around you, its hard to care when this is happening everywhere. Seriously, who tf still eats here????
Look, i dont mean to be a contrarian but a new chipotle opened up next to my house and their portion sizes are CRAZY! One girl had to wrap my burrito TWICE and its not because she put a bunch of stuff on there. She just gave me some insane portion sizes.
Corporate greed & ignorant people that are too lazy to cook or discover new restaurants. Bet you $100 people that eat at chipotle still listen to the radio or Taylor swift on the reg
I worked the online orders during COVID and I don’t think they really kept track of how much food was going out during mobile orders. Only time I got in trouble for giving out portions that were “too large” was when I worked the front. I can attest though that they weigh supplies and check sales to determine how much is being served per order
@@DrFunkman in order "extra" of s few things (that are free) and my hot salsa and sour cream on the side so they have an easier time rolling my burrito, and it turns out totally fine as I said.
Chipotle is only a good option if you're outside a metro area and the other options are McDonald's, Burger King etc. and you don't want to eat like full fledged Americattle
what truly bothers me about "Ugh this thing is more expensive now" is that people seem to forget inflation happens, and that they are part in paying people's wages. I think there are solutions to this problem, but they are not something any fast food chain would do, simply from boycotsor consumer protests. Only laws and regulations can make them do anything about it.
In part paying wages but mostly paying that 14% revenue increase lmao. What bothers ME is that You ate Chipotle's propaganda that the increase is due to wage increases even tho they keep posting record earnings. Like, where do you think they get that money from if they are assumedly paying more?
Actually we the consumer have the power of deciding supply and demand and we should use it at our discretion to tame the greedy corporations. And why should the employee care? They get paid by the hour mo matter what happens!
