When you are working on a vehicle or fabricating something I imagine your dad looking down at you with a big smile on his face. He taught you an excellent set of skills.

I was thinking, you have that little tractor you fired up in the last episode and you also have a lot of things about the place running their own engines, like the log splitter, a generator, a pump, compressor etc. Pretty sure that little tractor has a 3-point hitch and a PTO. It would just idle away running something like that log splitter all day long. You could mount it on a frame that hooks onto the 3-point and drive it to where you want it. It would save having to repair that old engine every year. I work with a lot of farmers who all have a little tractor like that and they usually have a compressor, a bench saw and a generator that'll hook up to them. They'll run the whole milking parlour off it if there's a power cut.

The reclaimed wood on the base of the sill was just the right accent with the white sides and top. All reclaimed boards would have been too much. Finn, don't worry, when you get your dad's age you too will have the belly for the heft needed to easily handle the wood splitting. It's a dad thing.

Great catch on the bike. My TT600 had an odd miss once. Every guy guy I rode with said "Clean that carb!" So after about 4 times.It turned out to be the stator... I lucked out, my son gets bored and works on my back burner projects when he visits. Bikes, 4 wheelers, chain saws, cars...the list goes on. Fair warning to the family. When the house gets done stop! My mother inlaw would knock down walls, move doorways, build additions and remodel up until her house had more money in than it was worth. She was always compensating for something in her youth.
