We're back with our 50th anniversary episode and once again with an amazing guest in world no. 2 men's doubles player Chirag Shetty!
Chirag shares so much great insight into the growth of his pairing with Satwik Rankireddy, working with Mathias Boe as a coach, their aspirations for the future and so much more.
Obviously we also had to chat about the overall development of Indian doubles, so tune in if you want to get to know Chirag a lot better and get inside the mind of a true pioneer in Indian badminton.
We apologize for the sound from HK being a bit below standard at times - and we are also aware of the screen format is not optimal. We will try to improve - thanks for all the suggestion and comments on this! :-)

First of all 41:30 , the smash speed back then was much lower compared today's because back then they measured the shuttle speed at the net, literally when it crosses the net, but now obv they measure it at its peak speed which basically right after it leaves the racket. Fu Hai Feng held the record for a long time with 332 kph and Lin Dan broke it with 339 kph with a drive, not even a smash, because he was close to the net and that powerful drive recorded at 339 kph. And for hans 42:23 It's not like rankireddy broke the record by 80 kph or something but BWF just didn't have an official fastest smash record list. So many smashes went unrecorded. The "previous record", idk which one u were referring to, the kolding's 427, the axelsen's 419 or the sen's 420. Those are just "The fastest smashes which speed were shown on TV", there are so many 420+ kph smashes which speed weren't shown on TV. Even at the same match which rankireddy hit the 500 kph one, i bet in that same match he had like atleast 5 420+ kph smashes but the speed just were not shown on TV In order to get on the list, u need to play on the TV Court, do the smash and they need to show the speed, what if somebody had hit 500+ kph on court 4 or something? Or they hit it on the TV court but they didn't show the speed? See the problem here? That's also why there has been no publicity about the 500kph being the record because we and the BWF themselves don't know what's the actual record is, because they don't keep track of every single smash and so many smashes went unrecorded

Great interview. Only thing is Anders' and in particularly Hans' audio were not good, but luckily Chirag had great, long and comprehensive answers making it easy to figure out what was asked in case you missed something. If it had went back and forth with short answers, it would have been a problem. Besides that, the questions were really great. On another Note... How is it going with Anders after he had to retire in the match against Naraoka at Japan Open? Hopefully he'll be ready for the world championship??
