According to some videos, he lowered the chances to 50/50 by asking two player who he knew would lie to confirm his suit. Then all he had to do was use critical thinking. There were already multiple spades but no diamonds among the group so it had a higher chance of it being diamond. So yes mixture of luck and deduction but he is still a cool character nonetheless

I knew his profession would be something unexpected, because he's so good at deceiving lmao. but it does make sense, there are many doctors who lack empathy. you have to keep your cool in stressful situations as a doctor.
