Story 1 - Girl, I feel you. I can relate with you soo much. Know you’re not alone. Having a tough upbringing may have forced us to grow up so fast. Grow up with anger issues and resentment. Traumas we are now left to heal from. But it’s on us to break that cycle. WE deserve that. Although we didn’t have a choice growing up, you can choose to be different for your family and life going forward. You be the best mama and partner. You got this! 👏🏼💖

the first story was a lot to take in no longer chismie that’s a real life horrific situation that im sure there’s people out here that have had a similar experience and because she seemed so open it forsure was so much more deeper then what it really was with all the emotions and the beat down she got with her dad and all that stuff

For second caller: I went through something similar when I lost my mom during my sophomore year. It's been 14 years and the pain never goes away, but with time you're able to rememberer the happy times more and more. Definitely recommend therapy if you can but also prayer. God is with you and your dad always and he will send you comfort if you’re open to it. I wouldn't have been able to finish if it wasn't for the support of the staff at the latino center on campus and the understanding and support from the financial aid team. I know a lot of schools don't have those resources so I'm always so grateful to the Stanford administration. You're doing amazing work! 👏 👏

Itati why you gotta do me like this! My dad was also struggling with alcoholism and it started to weaken the relationship between him and our family. A year ago he suffered a brain aneurysm and 2 strokes. Thank God he’s alive but things have changed so much. He can’t speak to us, he can’t walk, he’s been away from home for a whole year! I forgive him and will always be there to help him. He will always be my father. Definitely made me cry. I’ve been trying to keep strong. Tomorrow marks one year since his strokes.

That first story I can slightly relate to, those are “dads” that never grew up mentally. Siempre están en competencia, which reminds me of my “dad”. My dad has always had two families (women) at the same time. My two older sisters and I went to the same school that his side chicks daughters went to. He’d take turns taking both families to Mexico 😂. Seriously in disbelief that both women (including my mom) put up with some serious BULLSHIT. Holidays and birthdays were spent with the other family because we were never organized according to him but I know it was por pura conveniencia because that family had money. If my mom bought a family car he’d go and they’d get the same exact car in a different color 🤣. The only difference is that when it came to buying the kids cars, we always got the shitty buckets and their kids would get carros del año. My mom passed already and she was the one who always pushed us to have a relationship with my dad, to make him feel loved by us his daughters but we no longer feel like kissing his ass. Su current wife tries to play mediator but we know what’s going on.

I work in an office &’ these Podcasts have been helping me through the day to not get sleepy while working🙌🏻

I just wanted to let you know that your mom reminds me so much of my mom and it makes me so happy to see your interactions together, it makes me feel as if I can watch a little bit of what I lost. My mom left to heaven 3 years ago, three days before my 21st birthday. So it’s extremely hard for me and it’s a wound that will never fully heal. Keep rocking it girl! Y que siga el chisme 🫶🏽
