Smoky, sultry Chita Rivera singing Leonard Bernstein's song "Big Stuff"- which I believe plays on a jukebox at the top of Bernstein's Fancy Free ballet.
From Ben Bagley's "Revisited" series. Sadly out of print.
I won't tell you what the terrifically entertaining liner notes say about what Ben Bagley told Chita to visualize as she sang this song... I'll leave that to your imagination.

It is wonderful. It was the charming way of singing which I have not heard until now.

Any idea at all when this would have been recorded? Sounds like the '50s? '60s? Billie Holiday, of course, recorded it in the '40s.

+Susan Doran 'Big Stuff' was written in the early 40's, but this recording is from the mid 70's.

Kelly Hunt well the song always was tounge in cheek. Ben’s funny liner notes talks about what he told Chita to think about while she sang. Very racy and funny when you hear her interpretation. Haha

@@70Dallas70 ok I dig where your coming from with that reply. I guess I was trying to picture it because the scene is a juke box in a bar and the song is playing and I couldn't wrap my head around that interpretation to those lyrics but your explanation makes it all perfectly logical thanx
