Chilvary is the UK series from creators Steve Coogan and Sarah Solemani about a film production having to replace a problematic director in response to the #metoo movement. It is one of the first offerings from Network, a new free streaming service in the US. The series originally premiered on Channel 4 in the UK.
Chilvary stars Steve Coogan as Cameron, Sarah Solemani as Bobby, Sienna Miller as Lark, Wanda Sykes as Jean Shrill, Lolly Adefope as Ama, Aisling Bea as Tatiana, and Adjani Salmon as Aston.
I talked to co-creator, co-writer, and co-star Sarah Solemani, who plays Bobby about creating the movie inside the show, how different countries responded to the #metoo movement, how her character Bobby is a bit hypocritical, pulling from real life as a working parent, and how the many cameos came about.
