I have a feeling Malric doesn't actually die (since Agatha's victory is probably canon) so they could possibly reuse him in the future, maybe he gets taken prisoner instead
they say the attackers always win (with the exception to Thayic Strongghold when the Agathians counter attacked, making the Mason's the new defenders) so technically, Argon canonically wins this battle and the kingdom is his and the Agathians once more
I feel like the wording of the titles of the maps says the outcome, a few examples: - Slaughter of Coxwell, Mason victory with Agathian's slain - Razing of Asankandir, Mason victory as the town and library is burned down - Desecration of Galencourt, tomb is destroyed which leads to the Raid on Aberfell for revenge although I do not believe it was successful - Assault on Thayic Stronghold, keyword here is Assault and not Regicide so Argon survives the assault (likely from the counter assault he leads) Now back to this map, with names being tied to the attacker always that regicide would relate to Malric as he is acting King of Agatha; therefore I believe the canon ending for this is Malric's death. Argon II takes the throne but now has to deal with the threat of Tenosia in an already weakened state that the land is in.
@@Deruwugen The interesting thing is that I personally believe, thanks to one of Malric's lines of bringing up Tenosia, and offering a temporary truce, the third outcome is the actual canon ending of Trayan Citadel: Both kings live. If neither king dies before the timer is up, the Masons still win. And I doubt Argon really is this stupid to dismiss Tenosia as a paper tiger while they are ravaging his lands. If there's no more Mason troops left in the Empire to hold back most of the storm, who's gonna defend Agatha when the Empire arrives in force? This whelp? ...hah. He cant even defend his own stronghold, let alone an entire kingdom.
