As a black woman, I have to say Chloe's performance was a breath of fresh air. She oozes sexuality unapologetically even though she's fully covered. It's long past time for black women to express our artistic nature, beauty, and sexuality in entertainment without concern. Chloe is talented and this song was a great introduction to what Chloe's artistry can really be. Like the song says - it's a new dawn.

Yes...you are correct! Sadly it's not mentioned in the critiques of her performance that this is her original arrangement for the album. This 22year old BW conceptualized and produced this entire project from her bedroom/studio! So empowering! Chloe &her sister Halle are such a trailblazers. Seemed like an honorable tribute to Nina and a reminder to all of us of the power we possess as BW.🤎🖤

Chloe got a opportunity to show her range and she did just that for ABC which is a night audience to go all out which is very fitting and GMA to vocally to shut hows up. Chloe is too talented for her own good and people are scared and it shows. She’s a SUPERSTAR and a force to be reckoned with.

I agree with y'all 100%. Chloe did an amazing job and honestly it's just all hate and jealousy at this point. If it were Megan Thee Stallion to perform in this exact same way, people wouldn't have that much to say but since it's Chloe ig people find it to be a problem. Now I'm not going to lie, I was shocked at this performance (but in a good way) when I first watched it but I never once hated the idea of what Chloe did in this performance....in my eyes she did nothing wrong.

She looks and sounds amazing, I love when women use their lower register voice like low tones and deeper voice. Chloe has a good variety of style with her music, style and voice same with Halle. I like how she puts her own spin on song covers. She can sing dance and rap she looks amazing and sounds great her vocal range is beyond what I imagined They both have a wide range of vocals and style, they can go high and low and do many genres and styles. They can sing and dance and are a iconic duo and triple threat. The way they harmonize is crazy good plus they can play instruments the diversity is crazy It's giving very much Burlesque, she has really stable vocals and she's definitely making this song her own, she still killed it and this style suits her so we'll . Plus she's doing sexy seductive and kind of hypnotizing but not too much People tend to forget their is expressionism in dance and that's exactly what she's showing her feeling the emotions and showing it by dance

This might have gone unnoticed, but she preformed with a moon in the background first, then preformed with the sun the next day. Hence “new dawn, new day” as her performance went from night to daylight. For me, her dance was corresponded to the night theme and her bubbly energy was giving day energy. It was a vibe and she can do no wrong in my eyes 🙌🏾

If you look at where the song is situated on Nina's album "I Put A Spell On You", she literally gave the performance that matches the song. The album tells a story. People who are mad, don't know anything about Nina Simone....or this particular work.....at all....imho.

She was obviously sexy in this performance. But she definitely wasn't too sexy!! They shot it in a way that only hinted at a lot of her dance moves, even though they wouldn't have been scandalous if they'd been shown. She was glorious and beautiful in this performance, as ever. And despite never wanting to see her part ways with Halle, I do love getting to see her solo performances.
