In the 1970s and 80s they had all these older, but contemporary, actors and actresses hosting. It would be like having Tom Hanks or Steve Martin hosting these days - almost no younger celebrities except for Drew Barrymore when she was just a little kid. In the early SNLs they had musicians hosting a LOT, and also there was this one guy hosting a LOT, Buck Henry, who wrote a lot of the early stuff, and who did a lot of Samurai sketches with Belushi. And Steve Martin hosted a LOT. There were a LOT of repeat hosts in each of the early seasons. SNL has really come into its own, but it started out with a very different atmosphere. It's like it started out as a drug-addled music-baby and then grew into this more or less sobered-up, business-like adult. The history of SNL is really just the coming of age story of Lorne Michaels.

I like that Dua Lipa seems to have a good maturity about her. I hope she does her best to keep her music fun and clean. The music industry has many problems and problematic behaviors, from what I have observed in my opinion. I love good music, but hopefully there will be refinements soon in the music industry. I find it difficult to find lyrics in most songs that are not sinful, foolish, or rebellious. At least Dua Lipa usually does a better job at keeping her songs cleaner than most other singers.
