Chloe x Halle were invited to the 2nd annual Wearable Art Gala to perform 'I Was Here' as tribute to Beyoncé for her charitable acts. She was also honored on that evening. This video was put together using snippets found on social media.
The Awesome part is not only will Beyonce' be able to say "I was here" when she goes on, she's left us a piece of herself in mentoring these two young proteges to be professional superstars like herself. Priceless.
Ummm please dont give her all the credit they already had a big utube presence and following. All she did was sign them. They right their own material as well as produce it. Big props to their parents as well for encouraging them to follow their dreams. Then we can also thank B for knowing talent.
Exactly omg. It makes me cry bc she already said she not about to burn out. She's pouring into her kids, them and others so she can sit back and enjoy the fruits of her labor.
To be honest they both sound a bit like Bey. But Chloe's lower register definitely has allot of Beyonce in it. Chloe does seem to have a much lower voice than Beyonce especially at her age.
No her voice is significantly lower than Beyonce. Beyonce's voice all throughout her 20s used to have a pretty high placement. Her mid range used to always be around C5-E5 while Chloe seems to treat anything above C#5 as a high note. Her voice is pretty low for her age.
Chloe does have 2nd octave notes in some studio records. And plus Beyonce always had a very extensive lower register it was just an added feat that hear voice always had just like Mariah, and Aretha. But that doesn't mean her voice wasn't high. Like during the B'day era and even the Dangerously in Love era belting up to an F#5 o aG5 almost every other night of her concerts wasn't a big deal. Also Beyonce maintained that habit of belting up to an F5/F#5 and occasional G5 all the way up into her Lemonade era which happened in her mid 30s and that's a testament to how naturally high Beyonce's placement is not to mention it seemed like Beyonce comfortable hitting notes in the 6th octave much more frequently in her 30s then she was in her 20s. I really don't see Chloe being this consistent with her upper notes in the next 10 years.
I know she's a big fan but Normani has not reminded me of Beyonce not once, she gives Paula Abdul, Britney, Ciara... but Chloe is def one of Beyonce's musical daughters.
Chloe literally sounds a lot like Beyonce and Halle's voice is so pure & pretty; maybe this is one of the songs that doesn't need such harmonies... 😩 I bet Beyonce's ear was itching due to her musicality.
GarageStudio those harmonies is what makes this special. It’s a basic song that comes alive with emotion which is how Beyoncé carries the song and these ladies also.
Are they keeping them in a drawer somewhere? They should have been released singles. That’s ridiculous. I saw them sing the National anthem years ago. Still no one knows their name. So sad...too bad.
They have a 2x Grammy nominated album out as well as an ep and mixtape. This is Beyonce's song, so it wouldn't make sense to release a cover, but I too think they're lacking in promotion. Their sophomore album is due this summer, so hopefully they make it big
The sound for this video was bad.. I need to see a better recording before I can agree. But I heard what you meant too. Knowing them though, I doubt they messed up
Harmonies were fine. They just didn't fit the song's style. If the whole song was played on different instruments to match their style it would've been better.
