@@alfnoakes392 I have had dogs all my life who haven’t worked a day in their lives. They’re happy to go on vacation , enjoy the adventure and just be my companion. In the end it’s all work tho. Because dealing humans can be work 😂

She sees it as a need. Give the dog treats without the trivial training. That's love. Leave treats on the ground and see how much milk she retrieves. Congrats on training a dog. Will love mine and let them do as wanted in their free will. Sleep with us? Yeah,they want to. Isn't based on rewards. Chase a ball? Yeah,the same. Just seems like you trained help because no help no treats.

It's all a matter of very genuine loving training. Spectacular the owners took the time to train Lucy so she can be an integral part of the family.

Wow! Lucy is totally awesome! What type of special training did she receive to perform all of these chores? You all are so lucky to have her! What a love bug!!!

She is an amazing dog! If I taught my dogs how to open the fridge, they would be in it all the time lol.

Human beings aren't parents to animals. We have 2 legs , not 4. His parents are adult dog's , which are animals. Human are pet owners , not parents to animals. We're parents to our Human being kids

Aww come on, we all know that. And we all know what she meant. I too think that it's awesome to see Lucy be given and take the responsibility of helping with the baby. You are exactly right. She got a purpose.

I believe if you showed this in your office it would be an amazing thing for people to see. And maybe it would help some people feel the need to save a dog from a shelter or maybe just love the ones they have a little more. This shows the relationship you can have with your pet if you just show them all the love you can

@@davidmiles4678 The dog is clever, no doubt. To a large extent, the video is a collection of clips of the dog carrying stuff around, and also clips of trained behavior, and then adding a voice-over and turn it into a story.

My service dog is a black lab. Labs are easy to train once you find their motivation. For mine (and many) it's food; for some it's toys. She was taught with a clicker. Everything else after that is really just chaining (teach one behavior, like "go to the fridge" - click, treat. Then teaching her to pull the rope is another thing, until she learns to go and pull. Then you add the behavior of taking something (anything!) and bridge it to the milk bottle... and build up until you have the whole chain behavior of going to the fridge, pulling, grabbing the bottle, returning to you... then going back and closing the door. It's possible, just takes time. Once you have the initial "click = treat" and some basic behaviors like come and touch, everything is a lot easier.

I too was very impressed at how she functioned as a service dog. Clearly she has blossomed and flourished with the responsibility. Her life has meaning. Keep the child safe.

I don't think it was training. I think it was the three of them figuring out the new dynamics of life with the new extensions and wanting to have a place that did it. Lucy was telling them she wasn't just their pet, but a family member and wanted a greater responsibilities. And on her pewent's side, and to their credit, they heard her and figured out how to get her involved and let her know she is still important to them and the pack.

This is a working breed

TRAINED. For food. Think about if it was a human. My pets have treats and food 24/7. Still get cuddles and chase balls and love all day. Just no slavery waiting on commands. You can see she is always waiting for another command.

Smart dogs can have (estimated) IQs up in the 70s, which is smarter than many humans who vote, work etc.

And, THE DOOR too.. she may know even more than what we got to see on camera

@@BuffaloNickel9 She is no smarter than a normal service/guide dog. The only remarkable thing is that her parents trained her without being trained how to do it.

Lucy is very smart. You, however, with your talk about a grand creator; I won't hold my breath.
