@@Gallzatron if by poppy you mean less chugginess distorted riffs yes, if by poppy you mean in any way watered down in the sound I disagree entirely. It’s different just not worse I personally prefer this stuff way more.
Everyone always seems divided on their new stuff and their older heavier stuff. Am I the only one who enjoys both their heavier songs, and their newer more chill songs.
I remember when I heard this for first time. 2008. a friend in San Diego give me mix CD of CHON demo. I drive from San Diego to LA. Pop in CD. Hear music. I start freaking out, screaming. I've never heard anything like it. Almost got into car accident on the 5 freeway because I was just screaming and astrally projecting while listening to this shit.
Love this story, can totally imagine that. I can also remember the first time I heard CHON. Lights went off in my head, truly there is some crazy magic in what they're channeling. I wonder if they have had any spiritual experiences
this song, EP, artwork always evokes a certain emotion in me and i cant explain it but its like nastaglia with feeling the future at the same time and just remembering the first time i heard this song, im baked
It blows my mind they wrote this when they were 16 years old. Also, wasn't their drummer 14? I'm pretty sure that I freakin' STARTED playing drums when I was 14.
Matt Top Mario played and recorded the drums for this EP which is their demo. his brother (the current drummer) just started learning around this time.
When I saw them at the Triple Rock in 2016 they played this as the encore and I had never heard it before. Shit blew my mind (I was a very casual fan at the time and had only heard a couple songs off Grow).
I know that you said that new born sun is good, but the 2 points mean that it's less good than this one. I don't really agree, in this one they're showing more skills than they're showing in their last ep. But for me new born sun is more "logical". I mean, the melodies are really well found. This one is more like "melody" "skill part" "skill part" "skill part" while new born sun is "melody" "melody" "skill part" "wowhowdahelldidyoufindthat" "melody" But it's just my opinion. i'm not high
1:40 huge mega man vibes i swear ive heard that on the mega man x sound track then i went back and listened and could not find. but i still get the vibes :D
I’ve seen them 5 times since 2015 and they’ve played this song all but 1 of those times. Glad to see a band that plays their early stuff and doesn’t disregard it.
i gotta agree with u, their demo songs and the ep newborn sun are masterpieces thats what the true chon sounds like but now they sound too generic to me.
ProgressiveVirtuoso exactly if you are new to chon and heard them play the breakdown at 1:03 you would’ve never guessed that was actually them from how different they are now. Maybe they’ll go back to their roots in a new album
@@IkenFister Its not so much as they have to, but they want to. They're laidback dudes who want to write something beautiful and unique as opposed to some tech deth in major. Not to say that this shit doesnt rip, because it does. Band just evolve, and they pray that the fans evolve with them
My uncle is/was the studio drummer that did all the percussion that you hear animal play. True shit. Anyway, this is awesome, I dig that there aren't vocals but it would be nice
Kinda dumb to say other bands are better, as it's completely subjective. These guys are crazy good guitarists and are stylistically different. I happen to like them more than AAL but I think Tosin Abasi is more technically proficient.
Use offliberty . com! I know you said you don't wanna use a youtube to mp3 converter, but trust me, you get great quality from offliberty! I use it everyday! lol
Well thats ur opinion but being a guitarist myself Fall of Troy doesnt suck when it comes to their guitar work but I will say I dont care for the vocals at all.
