@@eftbfl from what I know he plays different drum parts in songs from Grow because other guys recorded them in the studio (from what I know Matt Garstka from AAL played on But and Book)
This concert changed my life!!! JD Beck and Domi opened for them and absolutely blew everyone's socks off. Followed by Chon crushing it as usual? Perfect show
man. Years later JD beck and domi get a tiny desk concert, late night performance, and tons of other shit. Chon was at coachella 2019 and only moving up. imagine where they could be now 😢
I saw them live in Chicago and it was amazing. Their sound is so full and warm. It just fills you with this infectious groove and chill vibe. It was a bit short overall though.
Just saw them tonight in Pittsburgh. Went with my nephew. Awesome show. The band before them with the girl keyboardist and the 15 yr old looking kid on drums. Lol crazy show.
I'm going to try and keep this short....just saw them Co-headline with Between The Buried And Me at the Orange Peel in Asheville, NC, (Intervals opened, who were awesome)....well, I'm not sure if it was Co-Headlining throughout the tour, but they did end the show and these guys stole the friggin' show!! There were def. Chon fans there that knew the songs / chanting parts at the end of show, which was a welcomed sight, since I presumed at least 75% of the crowd was there for BTBAM, but I could be wrong. On my way to see TOOL in Raleigh, NC, 10 days prior, while driving, I had my friend play a couple Chon songs. After roughly 90 seconds, I said, "I've heard enough". In a good way!! That's all I needed. So fast forward, Tool, amazing, of course, then Rodrigo y Gabriela that Tues. Night in Asheville, also amazing. Then Intervals / BTBAM / Chon on Thurs. My friends and I were very happy after Intervals and BTBAM....but then CHON....it only took a matter of minutes, if not seconds, EVERYONE was buzzing, hair standing on our arms (literally), they sounded "album quality", flawless, crisp and clean. "Steve Vai - esque" fingers stretching across fret board solos simultaneously by both guitar players. Not just one song, all set, mind blowing, as well as the bass / drums. This band will catapult to popularity in the various musical circles, whether it be Prog Metal / Instrumental / Rock or the more Dance / Jam - ish Prog sub genre's with bands like TAUK / Dopapod. Glad I got to "bump into", I believe Mario, walking down the side walk moments after the show. It was nice to talk to you. As I said, "Please come back to this venue, and this city".... You've got a good home in Asheville....we will not forget you guys.
Ngl I’m pretty sure most people care for chon at those shows because they were the true headliner, but all the bands killed it on that tour when I saw it silver spring, md.
@31:00 this song mus t be so hard to play bc of those complicated tempo shifts...I mean other songs do it too but this song is hard for me to follow towards the end
