This is one of those songs that exists solely for people to dance to at dance competitions. On this list is also Cell Block Tango, Heads Will Roll, and that one fuckin song that goes “welcome to the tea party”
+ that one version of My Boyfriend’s Back and Glam by Christina Aguilera. I cannot tell you how many times I’ve heard those songs at competitions and nowhere else
To give some more clarity on the shi/yon confusion. There are indeed two ways (actually at least three ways) to say four in Japanese. Originally four is shi (四), however because shi (死) also means death, yon (四) is used more often, and you could use either one in any situation, except in the Japanese for April, which is literally fourth month. That one is always shigatsu. It's the same with seven, which is originally shichi, however, because of the "shi" in it, nana is more widely used. Again, it's always shichigatsu for July. The third way to say four is when talking about quantity - then it's yotsu (which is where yon is derived from btw)
This was in my dance show last week 😂 the year 13s did it ✨ Update: we loved it so much that now my class is learning it!! 😆😆 Update 2: we did it for our assessed routine, loved it!!!!!
PANTHERS BROUGHT ME HEREEEE. I honestly think this is made for a cheer mix. 'What's the tea?'....'tens across the floor.'...it's perfection. BABS, girls let's get em.
T= the formation. The song is talking about Cheer and Dance competitions. "T" means the formation you make with your arms. Like High "V" Low "V" or "T" and Half/Cut/Broken "T"
^^ This is right. They says, Whats The Tea. Like whats up? Ballroom/Drag lingo "10s across the board is what you get when you qualify to make it to the battles at a ball.
Now im just walking around the house saying ichi ni san shi! and pop drop and roll take it down to the floor bring it up for some more ten across the board!!
I know ichi means one, ni means two and san means three, but shi does not mean four because four in japanese is yon. Anyone happen to know what shi actually means? I'd really like to know, thanks. ^_^
