The way the art tried to interpret the red string of fate is hilarious, because according to the myth whoever is tied to the ENDS the string is fated to be together. And which two are at the ends of the string? The two girls. The guy isn't even part of the string, he's just tangled up in it, so technically he's disrupting the destiny of these two girls.

It depends on the people involved in the relationship. From the lyrics, they don't want to be in a polygamous relationship, and forcing them into that will just cause pain and bitterness. But he loves them both equally, and cannot bear breaking either of their hearts. It's a sad, sad story. (PS I'm not saying polygamy is wrong, as long as all involved are okay with it.)

This is a good interpretation, but I think it's normal to feel possessive and selfish when you're in love; being in love is sometimes a crazed state in and of itself. I think the song's overarching theme is not of betrayal, but of the painful indecision that naturally comes with love. I personally feel that we can't blame any of them; all of them are victims of love, subject to its whims.
Okay, I agree with you about Red and Brown, but in defense of Blue, I think he's just confused. I think he isn't in love with either of them, but truly cares about them, and doesn't want them to get hurt. I think he realizes how much Brown cares for him, and doesn't want to hurt her, even though Red is his girlfriend. And he's trying to choose whether to let go of both, choose Red because he's obliged to, or choose Brown because it's apparent that she loves him more (and would probably sacrifice anything for him), but he's running out of time "The edge of the knife of time keeps cutting deeper into me" and he's so confused he just says that he can't choose. Personally, I think he should let go of both, but it's not really that simple.
