"bread and tomato knifes are more food specific, but you will use them all the time" unless you are allergic to both bread and tomatos. totaly make sense to own if you eat those things regulary, for me a poultry knife gets way more use, for another a deba( fish knife)
I love my santoku knife (esp since I tend to be intimidated by the chef’s knife...but maybe it’s just b/c I’m not even close to having that rocking motion down - he makes it look like a breeze!).
