I think you could double as a drone stunt pilot! When I pass on your videos I always say your the best teacher of composition! The demo with wife and long lens was spot on and easy to understand.
The 65x24 takes you into the scene by allowing your eyes to have a peripheral view without stressing to see the details of the scenes.... Great Job as always!
Adam you and your photo pal have really stumbled into heaven. Speaking for myself, stuck here, these videos are really it.. I watch them twice. Thank you so much for sharing and loving what you are doing it makes the experience here.. from a far all that more enjoyable. Thank you.
I’m loving your aquatic interlude and am eagerly waiting for your calendar to arrive with the wonderful print from that series. I’ve done a fair bit of wading around, in waders, and have on many occasions have had to rely on poles to keep balance tripping or slipping on unseen obstacles. May I suggest that you consider investing in a waterproof pouch to sling round your neck to place your camera when moving around, gives you two free hands as well. The come reasonably priced at any good boat chandlers, I used one when sailing for camera, phone, car keys etc.. It will make me less nervous watching and will save you heartache when the inevitable happens. I simply love your presentation style, information, inspirational videos, thank you.
I add this comment to an older video of yours but wanted to repeat it on your current one. I have been binge watching you and Gavin. Great tips. Thank you so much! It is really great to listen to professional photographers. I don't think I will ever get close to the level of professional in my photography and drone work. Still every story that I watch on you tube helps me see the world in a different light. Thank you again. Be well.
Awesome conditions. Awesome videos. Awesome images. I am a huge fan of panorama so I really like the panorama compositions more! Great job. That's why I love your photography so much!! Thx Adam!
hi adam, i enjoy every single one of your videos. great pictures, good music and great recordings with the drone. Thank you for sharing these beautiful moments and sharing your thoughts with us. Greetings from Berlin, Sven
What a beautiful series of videos. Amazing location in perfect conditions but you certainly made the most of it with so many glorious, harmonious images.
You can always use the 2 or 10 second timer on the GFX to prevent your reflection from appearing in the image, if the angle of incidence is normal (90 degrees) to the surface your camera refection will end up in the image. Nice work as always. Cheers BVA from Ontario
Spectacular encore! I liked all three crops, but the 64x25 in particular. Already looking forward to next week’s final episode ... Also very much like and enjoyed your book Quiet Light. Congratulations!
Adam...just as you ran short of adjectives. So have I . Amazing pictures. Beautiful video. The music just lifts the presentation to another level. I thoroughly enjoy your videos. Great Work.
Probably my favorite capture from these series so far, the whole scene looks like a Monet painting. I found the tree trunk leaving the frame on bottom right of both 4x5 and 16x9 to be somewhat distracting, but 65x24 looks phenomenal and feels like a mural. Thanks for sharing!
That moment at 8:15, where you appear to walk right into the photograph, and start setting up the tripod, was amazing and beautiful! Love the channel - thanks so much! X
When you are in a perfect area, no need to venture. :) love, love, love the 65x24...it is enveloping. Good comparative explanation of wide vs. long lens flattening. That GFX is nice...the detail, compared to my a7iii, gosh. :) love the minimal shot at 15:20. Thanks Adam!
I am going to have to agree all the formats were great but the 65 x 24 really led me into the photo and took me deeply through it. I would also agree the (willows?) definitely brought the mid-tones alive.
I can easily see why you spent so many days there. It's unique and spectacular. I'm sure your viewers will hate leaving that location as much as you. But, we will look forward to your photos and videos from your next incredible location.
Hi Adam: Such a lovely area, thanks for sharing. My preferred crop was the 16:9. I liked the wider format but found it busy along the sides. Take care!
The usual soothing inspiration. I don't get too excited with your videos, contra Hardcastle's output, I just settle down ready to listen and learn. The old Fuji pano aspect ratio of 65:24, resurrected in the GFX 100, yields the image of the video in my book. It is humbling to pause and note that technology within the GFX 100 will allow such a shot, correctly executed in camera, to be output and printed big as a sumptuous jpeg with no need for stitching or blending.
You asked us to pick our favorite crop so I pick the 65x24. I would like to add that it is because you captured a special feeling that we were walking along with you when you took the picture. With the other crops and lens selections you created stunning images. All second picks and no thirds. On another note, is there any truth to the only way to get an exceptionally great picture is you have to either stand or lay down in near freezing water? Let be careful.
Superb video yet again. Loved the advice on long length vs. Wide. Now, time for you to get back with Gavin for some more hilarious Fototripper vids!! You bunch crack me up... (but I do love your style ALSO). THNX 4 ALL YOUR HARD WORK AND EDUCATION!!!
I don't think I have seen a video of your's that wasn't beautiful and inspiring. But this series just seemed to be a little step up and it may have been the added excitement you seemed to have with so many opportunities to produce beautiful images.
I like the 4x5 because it seems less busy. The last one, 65x24, is outstanding but to complicated which is why I choose the 4x5. All are very good but smaller one you can rest your eyes on an area more easily.
I'm envious that you are able to travel and take these amazing images. We are still in lockdown in the UK, sadly. Thank you for keeping us entertained with your fabulous images, Adam.
Hello Adam , I am in awe of the beautiful pics that you have shared with us. As well, I so appreciate your videos as you have helped me immensely in my amateur photography. I especially enjoy your commentary and helpful tips that help me to " see " nature more intimately.
Excellent as always, Adam....these autumn vids from the Rockies have been nothing short of spectacular. Thanks for letting us live vicariously through you!
I really love how your out of camera RAW image is seldom very different than your finished product. I watch a great deal of instructional videos on photography and I can say that most of the other photographers have a large change between their camera RAW and their post produced images. I am a big proponent of getting the best I can from the inside the camera. Thank you for sharing your skills with us!
thankyou. format generally depends on composition, this i am gravitating towards 5/4 but you make everything look beautifull. stay safe keep inspiring.
Hey look! Mountains! 😉 Beautiful photos and a beautiful video. I can't get enough of this series. Glad you have one more for us. As far as the different crop of that one image with the three trees. I can't decide which I like better the 4 x 5 or 16 x 9, they both have an intimate feel to them. The largest one I like too, but not as much as the first two. I seem to get lost in the 65 x 24 (but who wouldn't want to get lost in that!? 😁) Say, do you think Skillshare has a knitting course? haahaa
All of the photos are spectacular. If I had to choose one, it would be the pano: 65x24. What a nice trip to spend hours upon hours in the same area and pulling out so many portfolio images from your campground area. Thank you for letting us experience the area with you and Jeremy.
