Great video, well thought out. We are hobbyists maple syrup producers in east central Minnesota, my wife and I tap 150-175 trees. John Deere has always been the go to tractor here. But as of late the John Deere owners have been trading for Kubota’s. Lot more orange in the area now since Kubota dealer came to town. Best of luck!

We own an LS. I can say after a few hundred hours, it is definitely a workhorse! It’s my go to for every day of jobs. We haven’t had any issues other than replacement of the front grill due to my over achieving with a grapple. 😂 I agree the resale numbers might be lower, but your saving that on the initial investment. Besides, it will be many years and many times the hours before I’ll trade it out for another tractor.

I bought an LS XR 4145 in 2018. I have 350 hours on it with absolutely zero problems. Kubota and LS are two of the few companies that actually make all of their own equipment in the 50 horse and under department. LS is less expensive without sacrificing much refinement. As for reliability I've had mine for 5 years now. Go for the LS if you haven't already!

I've got an LS MT7101 with the power shuttle shift. We looked at them all but found i just got more with the LS than the other brands. We were looking at the same one you were and then my wife realized the big tractor basically fit everywhere the little ones did but felt way more stable and the "instructor seat" is our special needs daughters favorite place to be when dads running the tractor. I've got over 200hrs in about 7-8months and no issues so far, just def, fuel and the regular maintenance. I added the third remote on the rear and it has the third function on the loader. Never wished I had a smaller tractor (especially when baling and hauling hay, or pretty much anything else) but always wished I had a bit bigger tractor. Plenty of power and the R-14 tires are pretty nice, I like them a lot more than I thought I would. The radio Bluetooth will reach my phone a long ways off (good and bad). And I love the air ride seat

I’m still a John Deere guy, I worked as a road mechanic for them so I’m partial but I feel like the support and availability is a big factor for me. I believe you can add some of those features you mentioned on the Deere. Everything has global sourcing on them now so no matter what you are waiting on it to come from somewhere. Best of luck on your decision and remember at the end of the day it’s what’s best for your family and the farm and that’s what counts!

The M-4's are incredibly popular for Kabota. You couldn't find one anywhere during the pandemic. You're lucky to have it as an option. All three are excellent , but the Deluxe Kabota will have better re-sale value than the Economy E Deer and the LS.

Well, I would for the LS. I don't have one, but this is the biggest bang for the buck. I got a New Holland TN75 with close to 4000 hours on it and it has never let me down. Sure a few little things, but I was so far always able to fix it myself.

I just took delivery on a new LS MT468 Tractor. The thing that tipped the scale in the LS's favor was price and standard features. For $10,000 or $15,000 less than what I would spend for a green or orange tractor, I was able to buy an LS. That difference is going to let me buy a lot of implements. In 10 or 15 years from now, the resale value of an LS vs the green or orange ones may be a big difference in the opposite direction. But for now I'm liking my LS. There were a lot of standard features about the LS that I liked. Things like 3 remote cylinder pairs in the rear, an air conditioned cab, self leveler on the front end loader, and a fuel tank that I can fill from ground level instead of making a mess trying to fill the fuel tank on the top of the hood - like the JD.

We went with the LS MT5.73. ours is the power shuttle with the electronic clutch on the shifter, works great. We also have a B series Kubota with a hydrostat trans. Fit and finish of the Kubota is a bit finer on the Kubota, but the LS comes standard with everything. We use both of our tractors at different properties for pushing snow, both work. We installed the buddy seat in our LS MT5 and works well. We went with the LS over the Kubota for the cost savings, and all the features. Time will tell which one to go with. Only you can decide which is best for your needs and budget.

I got a 5075 in March 2022 an its been problem free, absolutely love it! I sat in a Massey 4707 also. The 4707 had a tone of features but I wasn't interested in all that electric over hydraulics. I felt the 5075 was simpler, better quality, an it was cheaper. Them smaller front tires can be a bit rough on any gravel roads that haven't been bladed in the spring so I'm looking to get them upgraded next spring. Maybe put a air seat in it also.

My personal opinion. Sounds like your First year of plowing snow. Visibility, smoothness and ease of operation. Plowing takes a toll on your clutch leg and your head is mounted on a swivel depending on the situation. I didn’t notice if they were all hydrostatic or not. A lot to consider. At the end of the day it’s all about what fits you better for your wants and needs. Good luck

I’ve owned JD Series tractors 2, 3, 4HD and 5E. Based on my experience and observing how many used tractor with minimal hours show up for resale at the local dealer each spring is an accurate testament that most people buy on price over real valued features and end up with too small of tractor the next year. It sounds like most of your work will be loader, so likely will need a 520M MSL or 540M loader. In addition you want a minimum Two SCVs on the rear for any future hydraulic implements you might find come in handy. If you can justify the price JD5075M tractor with skid steer carrier, 520M MSL loader 3,600LBS lift capacity. You’ll be hurling honey till the bees come home.

Im a JD guy, mysellf. But if you have had a couple of Kubotas and have had good luck out of them, why look anywhere else? Plus, you have already got an established relationship with that dealer. As far as LS,how long have they been around? How long has your local LS dealer been selling LS? Will they be there in 10-20 years from now when you need service or parts? Ask yourself the same question of the Kubota or JD.

New subscriber here. Great job on this video. I have been an “all John Deere” guy most of my life. Back in 2012, we bought our first Kubota. In 2019, bought my 2nd Kubota. In 2020, the 3rd Kubota. I still feel that the John Deere’s make you feel like they sat you down in the seat at the factory and built the tractor around you. All the controls are absolutely where they feel like they should be. One of the nicest cabs in the industry. Also with the Deere’s, they have hands down the best dealership networks and parts availability. They take a back seat to no one in that regard. My decisions to go with Kubota equipment were many. The RTV 900 purchase vs. the John Deere Gator was because Deere hadn’t yet come out with power steering. They did almost immediately after we bought the Kubota. Still very pleased with the Kubota. Not a minutes worth of trouble with it and use it a lot. I think the Gator is a little nicer looking unit, but the Kubota isn’t hard to look at either. My little Kubota tractor is their economy version. A L2501. No Tier 4 Federal emissions junk on it and a very handy little tractor for what I use it for. I now have 4 loader tractors. 😊

The difference in price of the LS vs Kubota is staggering. 17K!! Heck, for 17K, you could buy another compact utility tractor with a loader!! My point being, the Kubota might be slightly more refined than the LS, but is it 17K more refined??? I went through this same thing and I just bought an LS MT357. I run a sawmill operation with mine, and so far I absolutely love it, I have 200 hours on it now. The cab is quiet, heat and AC work fantastic, fit and finish is great, and it's a powerhouse. I also have great dealer support, so honestly, what more could I want?? For me, when I compared prices with other brands, the money I saved by buying the LS allowed me to spend that much more on other things, like implements and other accessories. I have a feeling that someday in the near future, LS tractors won't be as affordable once the market is saturated with them.. but since they are still fairly new on the block, I say take advantage of the low price while you can! I live in Southern Illinois, and since the LS dealership showed up several years ago, my entire area has been steadily turning from orange and green to blue!! Good luck in your choice!

We went with the Deere 5075E. It was less than the orange one. LS just doesn't have parts support good enough to support commercial use. We use ours all summer and fall doing commercial field mowing. 2000 hours and no problems so far other than a starter. Deere had one to us the next day. We would likely have been down for a week or two with the Korean brands.

To be fair, the E series is the economy line- few frills, just the basics. They definitely have the options you mentioned, at least in the more premium lines. The LS and Kubota were more premium models. I just watched a review and walk around last night from a guy who bought a 5125R for a loader tractor and mowing. He had that puppy ALL tricked out. Including all the items you mentioned- the loader view roof (with sunshade); 3rd function hydro; rear controls for both hitch AND PTO- on both sides; Buddy seat; Even lights that go on the loader arms to illuminate the bucket. Plus you can release the QA loader attachments from inside the cab! It IS pricier, no getting around that- but you're getting premium row crop tractor functionality in a utility tractor. I forget the channel, but he did the best walkaround and review I'd ever seen. Not just the what, but the why and how it fits his needs, explained clearly and concisely. I think I learned more about the 5R tractors there than from anything Deere put out. They ought to hire him to do their tractor videos, lol. I know, too late to help you with this purchase... (but there's always next time) One thing that stood out: Deere figured out a way to make these 5R tractors even more nimble: A structural oil pan. Which shortens the overall length and width. It's physically smaller than the 5M he replaced with it, and this is a 4 cylinder 125hp tractor, vs a 3 cylinder lower hp unit. The lower hp models are also like this. They aren't merely higher trim lines of the same basic unit. The LS tractor looked pretty impressive, too. I have a dealer within 5 miles of me, right next to the Deere dealer. He mostly carries the compacts and compact utilites, though. I didn't see anything that big there. I wonder if it- and the Kubota- have a modulation control somewhere to mitigate the jerky starts. I'd guess they would.

I think more than price should come into play here. It’s a workhorse tool so I would really take a look at lift capacity on the loader and 3pt, hydraulic flow rate (it often gets overlooked but if you’re using them everyday it makes an impact), standard equipment. Most things can be optioned but it adds up quick. 3rd function and multiple rear remotes help a lot with the larger range of available attachments.

Loads my syrup drums for me and hydraulics are very smooth. He has a set of forks for it as well….not attached to the bucket but to the loader. The New Holland comes out least expensive, but no 3rd function on the FEL. John Deere comes out best equipped with a price in the middle. Kubota, I expect, will be priced out. JD is out of the discussion since there is no dealer in the north island... recently LS came but they are only down south island and if it breaks down parts will be harder to find on the other hand Kubota has been around in the Philippines since 60s and just stone throw across the pond but I'm looking for the best bang for my dollar...we just don't have luxury of ordering parts during down time i.e. online, shipping, and technicians like we do out here in states like developing country...thanks for making this video. I’m on a small vegetable farm and some Rowcrop we have about 20 tractors, Kabota’s, Ford, John Deere, and case I H case my Kabota’s never went back to the dealership since new summer 20 years old. I also have good luck with the case I H never head back to the dealership for service . The John Deere’s are the most like driven tractors we have, but I have more service calls with them.

That is interesting. Not surprising though. The Japanese are the standard when it comes to quality and resale. Toyota and Honda prove that. But people do pay more for green paint. And like every corporation that puts dividends over quality.... It's when the bean counters take over. It's a cycle.

Be very careful if you buy a Kubota and intend to keep,it for a long time. I’ve already have them quit supplying 2 parts on my L3650. John Deere won’t do that, they will charge you an arm & a leg, but you’ll be able to get the part! The L3650 is a good tractor, but when I went looking for a new one, I bought a John Deere because of parts availability.

I’m a Massey Ferguson fan of the new tractors I feel they have way more options for your dollar that your spending. The new dyna 2 transmission in the 4700 series makes it way nicer plus they come with more standard compared to Deere Case IH new holland kubota and all the competitors plus they have the really nice trailberg radial tires standard on them too. And we’ve had really good luck out of them the last couple of years

I have bought and sold a lot of Massey 135's. That's my only experience with Massey. The 135 and 165. The Perkins sip fuel and run all day. That 135 wasn't much bigger than an 8N, 2N or 9N... but it was a 45hp diesel. Lots of power on that frame. I don't have a AGCO dealership near me that I know of. Well, Mercer PA has one. I just didn't think about it.

I think all three tractors are good tractors but from my experience and running my tractors 14 hours a day seven days a week for five months I work my equipment hard and I can’t afford breakdowns and if something breaks I have to have it fixed within 24 hours so for me dealer support And parts availability is the most important, I don’t know much about LS? John Deere and Kubota are good tractors I’ve had both my thoughts are John Deere is a heavier tractor I feel more quality in small details and stronger heavier components, but Kabota tractor is still an excellent choice and at least with Kubota you will have parts availability, John Deere I feel is the best for parts availability I can sometimes even get parts at Napa auto parts for John Deere any regards to LS if you have a local dealer close to you and you’re in good with them and there’s parts available quickly that would still maybe be a good option🚜🇺🇸

I had a kubota m4d-071 and was not real happy with the air or hydraulics, have a 5100e deere now it operates much better, the kubota reverser is on or off no adjustment to it, the deere is electric over hydraulic also but uses a Modulating valve to engage the clutch which allows the tractor to start out smoothly and can also be adjusted by the dealer to meet your need if you like it smooth or more aggressive

That would be a tough choice to make. For me, I would shy away from the LS tractor. I am sure they are good tractors, but what if in a few years they just haven’t been able to keep up with the big dogs, John Deere and Kubota? Getting parts and service may not only be problematic. It may not even be possible. For me, it would be a price point issue and I would go with the Deere because of the deluxe cab and the comfort the tractor offers. I would be happy to own any one of the three, but if it were my choice, it would be the Deere.

@@staceydyson7929 , after making my comment, I did some more research. Turns out, LS is owned by LG. They are not some fly by night company that will be here today but not tomorrow. LS is offering very deluxe tractors well below the price points of both Deere and Kubota. This will be a game changer in the small tractor market.

Did you purchase yet? My 2 sense, seems the kubota dealer is socking it to you, I just had that same tractor qouted to me here in wv at 62k. Ls will always be around 10k less, kubota builds thier own engines, john deere is a 3cyl yanmar, ls is part of a multi tractor brand with parts from all over. Long term I believe the kubota is the better all round tractor and you would never go back from that electric clutch, that is how all your backhoes used to be until they went all power shift. I am also looking hard at ls simply because of cost but they don't offer the financing like kubota 1.99 for 84 Mos. Or 0 for 60. I'd take your ls qoute and make the kubota dealer squeak, it'll work. John deere is very good, I just don't like the yanmar 3cyl. Kubota is 4cyl, works less, last longer. IMO
