I am old school, my preference is for the older designs that had the good boxy side pockets that were actually big enough to be useful. The trend with rucksacks these days is to streamline them and do away with side pockets or make them so small as to be useless. I also must have a good size sleeping bag compartment.

People tend to travel with them now. Thieves take advantage of those side pockets.

Here's what would be great Shoulder chest waist pouches that can be added depending on ur requirement is there anything out there that can be added to a modern rucksack?

Hi guys! My tour only allows bags that are 70cm in height, 45cm in width and 25cm in depth - will the medium backpack suffice? I won't be camping, I'll be staying in hostels but don't want the trouble of lugging suitcase with wheels on cobbled streets! Thank you :)

Thanks for this informative video! I hope that my 50l rucksack will suffice. I'm taking a lot of weekend trips 2-3 nights, or city trips which can also last 4-5 nights. In your ranking my rucksack would be in the range of a medium one but with 50l i think it is one of the bigger medium sized ones. :-)

Hello. I am going away to South East Asia for 4 months(start of November until the end of February) and am unsure of what size backpack to buy from Mountain Warehouse. Thinking of 40 litre, 45 or 50 litre capacity. Maybe even 35 litre if suitable. Please could you recommend what size would be suitable for the following items? I am packing: 4 bras 2 skirts 7 small vest tops 1 larger loose top 1 x leggings 3 x thin patterned trousers 2 x shorts 1 x cardigan 1 x lightweight jacket 2 x bikini pants and socks hand towel small first aid kit bag with miniature toiletries flipflops trainers Sleeping bag liner Packing cubes to put these items in Will be wearing some of the above whilst carrying the bag. Out there, will probably buy: -Lightweight dress -A shirt -Sarong -Sun hat Any advice would be much appreciated, Natalie

Hi guys! Which would be a better buy?... A used Arc'teryx Altra in excellent condition for $175, or a new Rei XT-85 for $140? First backpack that I will be purchasing, any help would be greatly appreciated.

I'm sorry to hear so called experts recommending a backpack for cycling! What do you think panniers are for? I've seen some nutters carrying a fully loaded 80l sack on a bike!

I use backpacks/rucksacks from the Karrimor SF range. They are, admittedly, a little more expensive than the Mountain Warehouse packs, but the quality is superb. I've started using the Odin 75 for longer trips and the smaller Thor 40 as a day pack or short trip/light carry pack. Both of these have a clamshell opening design, which means that the interior is fully accessible; when packing the pack I can focus entirely on weight distribution over accessability. Regatta 65ltr survivor III How they designing some of these main 65ltr rucksack is wrong there's no end of features that's missing that really should be there suck as top bottom compression strap load points external water bladder side pockets not under compression straps move em slightly do it frees up the side compression straps pouches compartments could be added to shoulder chest harness plus the waist harness whoever is designing these modern rucksacks clearly doesn't know jack about hiking camping and upgradability and load carrying ability Update 17th April 2021 I just found the through port for water bladder if you check the main compartment opening just below where the drawstring holds main compartment opening closed well if u look 2-3 inches below on exterior towards left just where the top exterior hood compartment covers top you may see a marking H2o there's ur hole for bladder hose.
