Choosing natives from a small local watershed 

Barbara and Phil Leitner chose the plants for their garden exclusively from those native to their local ecosystem-the San Pablo Creek Watershed, an area of only 41 square miles. In this video, Barbara tells us how she worked with this somewhat limited plant palette. She also discusses grooming their garden for fire safety and to make the garden visually acceptable to neighbors.
