Absolutely agree with May. Spend 3h looking at different vids and websites to get the basics and here you did just that in 8m 44sec. I hope you are still in the business and doing well Mr Inline Skares.
Fantastic video. Really useful information! Thanks so much. I ordered a pair of skates yesterday already, and after having watched this video I'm confident that I made the right choice.
What is the best skate for gravel and small stones? I live in the country and have access to a very long very nice trail. It is all small gravel. Also will have my 75lb dog wi th. So I need an all purpose all terrain fitness skate. A decent brake system would be nice but most back stoppers tend to not work well on gravel. Thoughts? Suggestions? I need help. Really want to start roller blading! Tia!
Thank you so much. A goal of ours is too make our videos very informative to help the customer get as much information as possible to select the correct skates.
Wow, very detailed and easy to understand. Thank you so much for this video! I'm about to buy inline skates today or tomorrow (there is a huge price drop in the nearby shop because they change their collections and there are few pairs left from the various models so you can get skates that normally cost 250 EUR for like 89 EUR :D).
I had a pair of blades that had a special brake...I put my foot forward, & IT STOPPED on it's own...can YOU please help me find a pair of blades with this feature.
What type of skating are you looking to do? If you are going to be mainly skating on streets and what not I would go with RB 90 Urban Skates. They have a bigger wheel which will help with the speed but not big enough that turning shouldn't be problem and they are built tough to stand up to the punishment. If you are looking to skate in a park or indoors you could try the Crossfire 90. I have a pair of those and they allow me to do what I need to do on my blades.
Hey I am thinking of getting some skates, I am a size 7 (Uk) I have quite wide feet and I have been skating for a few years and I think I need to get much better skates if I want to improve and the roads are quite rough
Great video. Could you please recommend a couple of in-line skates? I'm considering the Crossfire 90, although I read that the bearings are non-serviceable. I'd prefer a skate with an 84 or 90mm wheel, durable, and comfortable for recreational use in NYC. Thank you.
I would says since you haven't been on skates in a few years I wouldn't go with the Tempest. You will find the 110mm wheels to be a challenge to skate and maneuver on. For speed and maneuverability I would go with the Fusion X3 or X7 or the RB 90.
Hi, i'm 23 and i use to skate a lot when i was younger, recreationally. I dont know what model i want. I know i want a skate that i can modify later when i get better with maneuvers ( removable brake , maybe bigger wheels). Is there any model you reccomend?
I am still a beginner. I started out the the rollerblade brand for $80 and switched to k2 midtowns for $120. I like the boot support of the k2 its a little tricky as the k2 rear wheel doesn't come out past the back of the boot.
I've take to route of cheep recreational skate's before and after a few miles your feet feel like their going to fall off. You very quickly find excuses not to skate. The higher-end skates are the way too go. Thanks for the information.
Hi, first off, thanks for the great video. I learned a lot. :) I do have a question, though - have you heard of the Nike Quest Shadow? I found a pair for a good price, but I am totally unable to find any reviews on them or any indication as to the quality of the skate. I'm a beginner, but my goal is to become 'fluent' so to speak at the skate park near my college. Maybe a step below aggressive. Any clue about these? If not, what about the Bauer Vapor T8? Thank you so much!!
What do you think about Firelfy Lithium skates? I spent my whole childhood skating and I never new that small wheels were for beginners. I just got back on my wheels and I busted them so my girlfriend and I went and got a new pair yesterday but the guy didn't know a whole lot. Now I am worried I got the wrong ones because the exoskeleton is plastic. I have 84mm wheels though. I asked him if they were going to break when I jump things and all he said was "They shouldn't"
Sorry, I have never actually heard of the Firefly Lithium skates. What type of skating are you looking to do? I can try and get you into the right skate for your style.
Hi, I am a 22 year old woman. I know how to skate well, just recreationally. The breaks on my roller blades are really warn down and I was thinking about buying the Bladerunner Performa Easy Brake ABT Ladies Rollerblades. I think the ABT brake would be awesome because although I can skate well, I hate lifting my foot to break. Are these skates only for beginner beginners, or would I still have fun and go pretty fast with them as a novice skater?
Ideally these are a skate designed for beginners. However, the frame will allow you to upgrade the wheels to 80mm which will give you some added speed. I have been skating for years and my skates are 80mm and I go fast enough for my liking.
I am so confused .... are inline skate all the types of skates that their wheels are arranged in line... and also at freestyle skates (slalmon skates) and roller blade the same .... if their not what is the difference
Softer wheels (less than 84A) will have better grip on smooth surfaces, so I'd imagine that would be the best for indoor skating regardless of wheel size. Harder wheels (greater than 84A) will last longer on rougher terrain despite more vibration; the larger the wheel is, the better it will perform on rough terrain
I'm looking forward to buying some skates from your site and start rolling, but I need to know, as a taller larger guy who's 280 lbs with a size 12 foot us, what type of skate should I get?
I'm a "uk 8.5" would there be any problem with me buying an exact size 8 or 9?? as I can't seem to find anywhere that sells an exact size. and would rather slightly over or under for little bit more room and comfit? don't know if that's a good idea.
So I've been skating for a little bit (a few weeks), but the skates i'm currently wearing are a bit too tight, they're size 8 in male, but i'm a size 9-9.5. I was thinking about getting skates that wouldn't make my feet ache as much by getting a bigger size or getting the ones with a metal frame. Or should I just continue using the skates I currently own and get better so I can progress to buying skates for more advanced individuals? Thanks!
You should buy skates based on your actual shoe size, I am kind of surprised you were able to get the size 8 on. You should definitely get a skate sized based on your shoe size.
Hi, I haven’t skated since I was a kid (I’m in my 20s) and I’m looking to get back into it. I live in nyc and I’m looking for something that will last me, that will let me build up my skill level from, and that will give me control for going around in a crowded urban area even as I’m just doing it for recreation (no plans to do stunts). Right now I’m leaning towards the macroblade 84, but would love some input on whether that sounds appropriate - my main concern is whether I should go for an 80mm wheel instead since the city is so tight, and would I be able to put 80s on the skate anyway? any advice or alternate suggestions appreciated
Looking to buy some skates between the £100-£150 mark ($135-$200) There are a lot of hills and rough terrain around me. I've also got wide feet which i'm not sure if that changes anything. I've had about a year or two riding on and off so i'm fairly comfortable with skating. Would love to have some recommendations from someone with a lot more knowledge than me :)
Which skate are you referring to. There are some fitness skates that don't feature a brake and a few that do but they aren't attached but come in the box so you can attach if you want.
What's the best recreational inline skate for someone who hasn't done it in 20+ years, and lives in a small town with a lot of sand, and rough asphalt, and is 320lbs and worried about breaking the skates.
I would go with a beginner type of skate. Wheel size about 80mm and you will probably need to buy new wheels as the you are going to want a high durometer of like 84A which may not come on any of the skates you would buy.
+Inline Skates I'm trying to get a pair of skates that go fast, and I'm like advanced skill level because like I usually like to do jump off stairs, the ones I have right now we're plastic but they cracked so I need your help
PLZZZ reply!!!!! i roller skate in the rink (it's kinda outdoor round tho) do not dance i just like moving speed and cutting through people in the rink i will like to try inline skates plzz tell me what inline skates to buy for around $100-$200 range that last long(i like skating for long)
Hey Brandon, Dru here! I've tried the Doop models before, and they definitely are fun! I do find that they do not provide as much support/response as traditional skates though. I think the Swift 110 will be a blast for just skating around and having a good time. If you are looking for a long distance skate for training purposes though, I would recommend going with a more traditional style skate boot.
Hi my name is Quentin, im looking for the right skates for me.but don't know what to look in to. I'm looking for skates that can support my ankles and my weight. I weight 310 if you can help me that would be great.
Quentin Iverson The K2 Fatty Pro is an aggressive skate. Those skates are good for doing jumps and tricks. If you are looking to skate for fun or exercise you are going to want a recreational skate.
You definitely want to go with your actual shoe size. I have found though in K2 skates that going up a 1/2 size is beneficial. All other brands you want to go with your shoe size.
I bought "Rollerblade Spark 84" from his website it's awesooome ..... When I wear it, I keep in skating and feel like I really don't want to return home !
Hi, I was wondering if you could help me out with choosing a category of skate and possibly pointing me towards a specific model. I've been playing roller hockey for about 2 years so I'm comfortable on skates but I've never really tried outdoor skating. I'll be moving down to London next year so I'm wanting to buy a pair of skates for getting around and just having fun with - I tried a pair of aggressive skates and didn't really like them all that much because of how different they feel. Thanks!
i am not a beginner, but i have not been on some blades in quite some years. i have not been on anything larger than a 80mm wheel. right now i am on some blade runner pro 78mm wheel. i want to make a BIG upgrade but i am having trouble deciding what i need. i really want the tempest 110, but i have never been on speed skates, i want a fast skate that has maneuverability and can handle the asphalt around here also the up and down terrain.
i also do not want to surpass the skill level of the skate in less than a week. basically i want a fast skate that i can use in urban invironment or jump into a marathon if i get a wild hair, or even use them as fitness skates. maybe i should go with the tempest 100 or crossfire 100? any suggestions would help, skates arent cheap these days. thanks.
I bought the K2 Missy Inline Skates for my daughter when she was younger. She loved the skates and is ready for an upgrade because she finally outgrew them. She is an avid roller blader and I want something really good to transition. She is 12.
Are the K2 Il Capo Unisex Inline Skates, the white and turquise ones any good? i go rollerworld every day so would they be good for skating on like a wood floor? Thinking of getting them.. Reply please !!!
Hello, I've just received my Maxxum Edge 125 from Rollerblade and I think they are too tight for me. The length is good but my feet are extra wide (EEE). I bought a 7.5 one because I use boots and shoes size 7 or 7.5, depending on the model, but these skates seem are too tight! I couldn't stand more than 5 minutes on these even without tightening the laces what so ever with extra thin socks. My feet are quite unique in size: 9.153 inches in length (equivalent to a 6.5) but 4 inches wide (equivalent to a 9 in width. What do you suggest? The next size for this model is 8.5. Thank you!
Its a decent skate, however it is an Urban skate and is better for skating outdoors in crowds and such. Urban skates are built tougher so they are heavier than normal skates and not as flexible. I use Urban skates when skating in a skate park and its ok but I'm planning on getting another pair of recreational skates to use this summer.
Why do some skates have the front wheel that extend pretty far beyond the toes (eg. Rollerblade Macroblade) as opposed to the front wheel being pretty much aligned with the end of the boot?
Can you give me a price range? Like what is considered a good price for a higher end skate vs. a lower end skate? I have a limited budget, but don't want to end up wasting my money on skates I'll never use.
Going off of a regular priced skates I would say $150 and above is the way to go. However, price isn't everything. A good frame, and wheels give you a good skate. Call in or live chat on our site for information on the perfect skate for you.
1-2 inches is a bit more room than you would like but since you aren't buying any new skates in the meantime, I would throw on a couple pairs of thick socks to help fill the room. Keep in mind that may still not work and you open yourself up to uncomfortable skating and getting blisters.
Well first off, are you looking for an inline hockey skate? Secondly, I have heard about that skate. Not the greatest skate in the world. The Bauer Vapor T8 is a decent skate. If you can provide me with added info, like where you plan on skating, what they are being used for etc. I can give you some additional advice.
These skates are pretty identical. The only difference is in the frame, while both are aluminum the v02 has a more sturdier frame. The liner is also different. The Mach 100 has the Intuition liner which is super comfy.
I personally have not used them. I have heard good things. One draw back I have heard is the boot is a tad bulky, but nothing to deter from picking these skates up.
I have used the Crossfire 90 and rather enjoyed them. The wheel size and bearings were great. I was hitting top speeds with little to no effort and was able to skate longer than I have been w/ my normal 80mm wheel skates.
I am sorry to hear that you had a bad experience. Are you looking to try again? I could try and help you get into a better skate that you will enjoy skating on.
im looking for a cheaper pair of skates to use when exercising my dogs. I have tried other modes of transportation such as bikes and scooters but i find handling handlebars and multiple leashes at once to be a challenge. Any suggestions?
Definitely will be upgrading soon! I just needed to get back into it and feel that freeing skating experience I once had as a kid. Because now, I can afford to spend on this hobby :)
The ABEC rating doesnt judge bearings by performance. It’s the space between the ball bearings and the tracks(?) sorry if it’s called something different. Just from what i remember
From my experience bearings do no play that important role. They are also very cheap and easy to replace. Just a normal industrial part that costs maybe $1 a piece + shop margin. Wheels are much more important. Cheap wheels that are slow, have not grip and get worn very quickly. After many wheel replacements I finally decided to spend slightly more money and I never regreted. Everything is better - grip, durability and comfort. I would look for skates that already have hyper or other branded whe
hi inline skates, i have been trying to get back to inline skating again and i am planning to buy a fitness skate mostly to do some weight control haha.. so i was wondering what kind of skates can you reccomend for around 100-200$ range ?
I started rollerblading in school... And would get different skates everyday. Some days the wheels were nice and smooth sort of like gel. Others would feel like plastic and would be hard to skate with. Is there a wheel difference
