I'm a Volkswagen guy, but this is the exact type of info I love to learn about. The small nuanced upgrades you can do to a car that most people wouldn't know or care about.

YES, technical tuesday is a brilliant idea. so much knowledge under one roof absolutely invaluable. maybe down the line an s chassis tt? would love to see it. keep it up!

SAU Forum member here since the Skylines Down Under Merger in the early 00's. Back then it was all about the community which was very strong. Though there is literally loads of tech data present on the forums, how to guide's pdf's etc. the Skyline development was literally evolving year by at the time and honestly subframes were never something I recall being a focus point. Which is possibly why there is no single "go-to" one stop shop for Honda style tech data.

Technical Tuesdays deserve its own playlist imo.

Would like to see a push/pull clutch differences, when and why to switch. Also, get Josh a mic 👍

Funfact - did you know that some rear subframe mounting holes, from factory, are slightly larger by 1-3mm meaning the subframe sits slightly offset. wont ever see it without aftermarket bigger wheels. New whiteline subframe bushes resolve it

I mean. I don't have a skyline atm. However I am interested in doing an OEM+ GTS-4 but kinda like a HKS NISMO OEM+ but a little custom Autech 4 door but GTR parts. So this information is helpful and fully supported because while I have most of it figured out. Little things like this are really important for the off the wall variant I want to build.

You should do a parallel series with all your JDM goodies. Go into the details of each piece like, what catalog they came in, what application is it for, etc. Could even be a shorter series on YT Shorts or TikTok.

I love this new technical tuesday series. I do agree that us Aussies didn't keep our forums alive as much as other countries, but now all that skyline info is within facebook groups. It'll be great to have it all on video and see it visually and be able to find this info all in one place.

@tommyfyeah I have an R34 GT, went from NA Neo engine, to turbo Neo and manual with a 33 gtst box. After wiring speed sensor direct to cluster i dont get anywhere near the right speed. Might be a different signal still have incorrect speed after so much time has passed. Do i need the manual cluster ? Who would think the cluster is different from Auto to manual ? 🤔

Hey Tommy, can you make a video dedicated to telling us everything from a R34 GT-R that may work on a R32? If we have the opportunity to buy a R32 GT-R shell, we may as well upgrade all the components to R34 GT-R ones. Of course, we know that the front suspension will be very different. But wouldn't it be nice if somehow people can convert their R32 to R34 front suspension, that may be a game changer for resto-mods!

What about how to fix common R chassis issues so they don't get all hacked up? Had a gtt that I imported with no power steering. Turned out to be the variable assist solenoid. I couldn't test it or get another so I put a restriction in the fluid bypass to force pressure through the rack which is all the solenoid does anyway. Another idea is how to do good proper basic mods to a stock 32 33 and 34. When I had my gtt there was so much less info r34 (obviously) that only came from Australia. I wanted to do small performance stuff because its either make it work with the stock ecu or do a manual swap. I didn't want to spend 10k in mods.

Would love to know about the GTST subframe differences and the different motor mounts !!!

Cefiro subframe fit's 32 & 33 and drop's the engine about 2 inches good for rb30 swap's

This idea is going to help so many people for years to come. Maybe integrate s chassis parts that are interchangeable too like rear sub frames on 32s to delete hicas. Also would love to see non gtr cars the that can be upgraded from gtr parts as well.

Subframe content and og simpsons clips. 11/10 Big fan of OEM upgrades. Subaru are very similar, take a subframe from a GDB and bolt it into an earlier chassis and get better suspension geometry or braced parts etc.

Curious to see the difference between the 33 and 34 rack. I’m a test engineer at Bosch for power steering gears. I wonder if Nissan went with a bigger rack and higher ratio and different stroke for the 33 an 34 for the weight difference. Now a days we also make longer or shorter ITR for different stroke requirements. Technical Tuesday Tea ☕️

You could literally take this kind of idea a step farther and talk about your favorite rare or cool parts and break down history of the brands or chassis interchangeability or why they are cool to you or popular or unpopular to the community and just super in depth on some of your favorite oem or aftermarket parts. Which I think a ton of people would love to watch and you wouldn't even have to own the stuff you could just do screen shots and stuff even

i love this concept and would love to learn and apply it to my gt-four r34 4 door. Question, idk if this gets lost in the comment section but i can never find much info on the gt-four. does it use rb26 awd sump? has it got the same subframe as the gtr? does it share the same suspension as a gtr?
