I would have thought that the thicker the sponge the slower the speed but I guess I was wrong. Interesting! Thanks

Perfect video. Very objective. No mention of brands and all that caboodle. I mean, if you'd say that it's better to practice ii, V, I chord progression on Yamaha piano than say Kawai, Bösondorfer, or Steinway, you're missing the point, don't you? Same with table tennis. Makes no difference if you choose Butterfly, Yasaka, Nittaku, or Stiga. All that matters is the overall type! I love this video. It has everything one needs to know about table tennis rackets.

The Palio Expert 2 is a great bat for beginners. I was recommended it by my tabletennis coach. It's got good quality rubbers, a decent blade - and it's far superior to the majority of bats you find in sports shops. It's become the 'go-to' bat in the UK for those starting out in tabletennis.

which one is better - gki kung fu or gki dragon. I'm a offensive player, hit lots of fast smashes. the racquet should be good enough to spin a ball and stop opponents spin. So on these criterias, which one of the above mentioned racquets should I buy

Invest in an actual paddle where you need to put together blade and rubbers. Don't buy pre-made paddles.

+MrInkblots According to the Columbus Table Tennis Club President, Greg Brendon, the most notable difference between the two games is as follows: ping pong paddles (also called bats) do not contain a sponge-like material between the wood and the outermost layer and are referred to as "pips out" because of their knobby texture on the outermost surface. This sponge like material, along with the inversion of the rubber on the outside of the bat is what makes table tennis a game where the spin placed on the ball is a more relevant factor. Table tennis is the most current of the two games. However, some players still play with hard paddles (aka hard bats) which can make for a challenging variation for newer players who are not used to playing against it as the spin factor is altered by the pips. Also the balls in a ping pong match are slightly smaller.

Ok good video however it's not a table tennis 'racket' (a racket has strings) and ping pong is a different game to table tennis! Just to say!
@MsShadowLugia
@MsShadowLugia 8 лет назад
+Joel Gibney not really. Ping pong and table tennis are the same game but with different names.
@MrInkblots
@MrInkblots 8 лет назад
+Joel Gibney Okay mate, the ITTF refers to it as a "racket" and if you'd do a quick google, you would see that it is a very common and valid name for it (along with 'bat' and 'paddle'). Second of all, look up "table tennis" on Wikipedia and you'll see "Table Tennis, also known as Ping Pong, ...". They are the same thing.

MrInkblots table tennis and ping pong are different sports bro different bats differnent rules

Joel Gibney do you have a source?
@chronicdeist
@chronicdeist 8 лет назад
No, they're not. Parker Brothers trademarked the name ping pong in the 1920's and so other manufacturers had to come up with another name to describe their equipment. Thus table tennis was born. The same game, different names. Just to say!
