Mystery hero is a great place to try out heroes. because you can't pick what to play, and you don't have to feel any preasure to performe great as no one would blame you for not knowing how to play that hero.
Sojourn is basically hitscan her primary is a very fast projectile so the lead is very small. And she mostly kills ppl with her tail shots and those are hitscan
I watched this for fun but Hanzo is my main. For a new fps player who wants to learn an aim intensive character, but doesn’t want to be outclassed by players who played other games, Hanzo is the hero to learn
I main Baptiste, Sigma, and Junkrat but I'm also a flex so I have a couple other ones that I'm comfortable enough picking up easily. Highly recommend having at least two characters in each category
@@Rekexa bc sombra is toxic 🤣 she shows up out of nowhere strips you of cooldowns for two seconds and proceeds to rail you down. Manage to survive that and do some damage? That's fine, sombra just teleports to the last health pack she set a translocator at and then goes back invisible. Only way I've killed sombra is either one shot or she was being careless. She's fun, but only for the person playing sombra lol
I feel like this is more for people who are new to the game/below silver and gold so they dont get overwhelmed but as you climb and as you gain muscle memory with your main experiment with new characters, you may find someone who you used to be bad with now has a powerset that perfectly compliments your playstyle, or if you particularly struggle with a certain character that is a lesson in something that you should improve on (I.E. if you are bad at widow you likely need work on aim and safe positioning) most importantly have fun :)
Honestly this is true I have currrntly played for about 600h across Ow1 and 2 and during 1 I hated playing widow but about two weeks ago i decided to try widow for fun and 20h later i couldnt be more happy about playing widow. It honestly feels like she is so easy to use now whereas in ow1 she felt so hard to play with. Also changed my perspective of talking bad about teammates who play widow because i thought they were useless but now i see that thry may be more usefull than anyone else if played correctly.
Mercy and Genji main here, I personally feel as if while having multiple mains is incredibly important on one role, like I want to learn how to use echo and tracer for dps as well, but I feel like its also incredibly important to pick heros that help you/are similar in playstyle between roles. As a mercy main, I am always flying around in the sky with GA, so normally, especially on open maps, I am normally the one calling out where enemies are located, because its simply the best way to play from a bird's eye view (Especially on ruins). I find this helps a lot with my Genji blade playstyle, as dashing up to start the blade gives me an opportunity to use my skills as a scout mercy to view where everyone is and create a path for the dragonblade. Basically, you should pick heros that complement your playstyle in as many roles as possible! EDIT: I've also been trying out kiriko, and I find her to be very similar to genji in a sense, the mobility of kiriko and the wallclimb are familar to me, and allow me to think of escape routes that I would normally only take on Genji.
Uhm- its been over a year since this comment. Best tip I can give is practice your aim and gamesense. Figure out when to dive, and when to retreat. Look out for certain enemy cooldowns that when used makes it easier for you to get a kill; EX: Kiriko uses suzu and swift step, now its much easier to kill her while those abilities are on cooldown. Take a look at high level genji's playstyles, namely the genjis that helped me when I was just starting out would be Necros and HarmlessPoke.
I dont know, i feel like theres no perfect main, my main depends on the map - I'm sure we've all noticed that using the same character doesnt always work out...depends on the map + team comp etc. Sometimes u get countered constantly so u have to switch it up. I think its good to know how to play with every player to some degree to be able to play whatever role is needed to win the match.
I’m more of a Team Fortress 2 guy and only just recently downloaded Overwatch 2 and I like to play orisa for now. The game is really fun and refreshing after spending so many hours on a different game.
I main Junker Queen/Sigma in tanks, with Reaper being my most used DPS. I love all of them for their very exciting playstyle, lore, and truly unique approach to engaging in fights!
Junker Queen is my favorite one in the game. I jump into qp to play a round with her when I lose 3 or 4 in a row just to reset myself. I wish I could play her in comp but sadly I feel like I'm a thrower almost like I would if I picked doom. So I main Zarya/hog for tank. Also reaper/junk for dps. I'm a support main that mains Ana but can play Kiriko, Mercy, Brig, Zen, and Moira pretty well and I flex this role
This is great advice. I stumbled into my mains (Sigma and Zen) while learning my way around and seeing what clicked. Then I expanded outwards and now end up winning with Baptiste, Kiriko, Mei, and Sojourn nearly as much. Now my 7yo son is getting interested and I told him to choose a class first and find 2-3 you're comfortable switching between in that class. Then do it again until you're solid in any class. This advice helps clarify which hero types one might want to explore.
Been a Soldier main since the first Halloween event, 2016. I started branching out recently and now enjoy Reaper, Junkrat, and McCree. For DPS, at least. This season I've been in love playing as Reinhardt and still looking for another tank that gets that itch. Supports, I'm still debating whether I want to hone my skills as Ana or try my hand at Zenyatta like I did when I first played.
As a new player, I am still learning all the heroes. For tank, I have Orisa and Junker Queen because they are fun for me. For DPS, I'm still deciding (so far it's been Bastion as my main). And support is Kiriko and Baptiste
Bastion is the easiest to play high hp and low skill weapons but hey no hate I even play him once in a while for fun :) soldier 76 is similar but with a higher skill I recommend him
@@theworldismine7788 just because mercy is a movement hero doesn’t discount that tracer is a movement hero as well. But tracer actually has means of defending herself when she’s out of blinks. Nobody is getting a kill outside of ult with glock.
i just started a few days ago too (ik this comment is old) but playing tank is so scary to me. i have like 10+ hours in support, 3 hours in dps, and 12 MINUTES AS TANK. i just know im gonna get yelled at for sucking and it makes me too scared to try
I'm very happy how this person made categories to make you understand what's what. I played OW1 and I started playing OW2. Never knew what's hitscan but I knew what has projectile and what not. It still helps a lot to communicate with others and also it helps to identify as a hitscan player between others or choosing diving tank in terms of diving tanks. And I took a small part of time to watch this video to get a knowledge for best tanks understanding what is what. You need to play them all but as person said you need to have fun playing it. The one thing I never been thinking about is enjoying hero we play. Now I started to understand it when I have been not having fun on some heroes. Thanks!
ive been having trouble choosing specific characters to main... ive been enjoying hanzo and reaper a whole lot lately tho, but those two seem to rarely fall under the same category
well i feel like picking 2 diff characters that apply well to different scenarios like those 2 is honestly a good way to go about it. im trying to pick 2-3 characters to get good at in every category that hold up good in totally different scenarios yk
Yeah I would say this is the way to go so you can flex based on team comp, map, counters rather than picking based on aim styles if you can get good at both
I’m a very new player, only been playing for around a month and a half or so, but I feel like I’ve kind of developed some comfortableness with Bastion, Pharah, Soldier 76, and Reaper. I just kind of pick which one I think will work best based on the map and my teammates’ characters. The one thing that sucks is I always get stuck when an opposing genji hard targets me (happens extremely often) because I’m so new to the game I don’t even know what his deflect ability works on.
I personally main Junker Queen. Just a ton of fun. I’ve been playing her since release and just been my favorite character overall. Although I do also love to play Widow and Sombra
I main Hanzo, but since he suffers at extremely long range and extremely close range, he kind of needs back up picks. If they're playing dive and constantly harassing me at close range, McCree is my go to, and for when I need get the enemies that are playing far back, I recently found I can swap to genji. Or I can swap Soldier for any comp, which I am insanely good at, but playing him bores me out of my mind.
I prefer to have 2 picks on each role : sigma and zarya as tanks, bastión and (unnamed) for the dps and bap with kiriko for supports im not doing that bad
Support- Moira for added aoe heals and increased team damage and mercy Tank- Orisa and Hog for brawl and survivability DPS- don’t play it much but when I do it’s ash, hanzo, soldier, sojourn, or symmetra
Symetra, D,Va and Moria main. I think this video gives some really good advice when choosing a hero, may do some of these myself as I'm trying to expand my hero base.
Sigma, Hanzo, Zenyatta. I started on Zenyatta, and got pretty good with him. My dps main used to be Bastion, but I got bad at him with the transition from ow1 to ow2, but since Hanzo was minimally changed and I was good with him in ow1, and now he’s one of my all time favorites. My tank main has changed lots over time. I started on Wrecking Ball, and still play him quite a bit, but since he isn’t very practical I don’t play him much anymore. I then switched to Roadhog, as he had good damage and health, but he isn’t as fun anymore after the nerds. I now play Sigma because I have a high accuracy and damage per 10 minutes on him and his abilities are simple enough to where he is easily a true tank.
I'm a Moira one trick main who has been playing Overwatch 2 for about 2 months. Never really played Overwatch besides a few games on friends accounts. In a month i hit plat 3 from silver 2 and I winstreak in diamond lobbies consistently. When i queue with my friend in masters, we both play support and i usually Outheal the lobby. Moira always gets a bad rap and people complain when they see the pick, but then people always say wow a good moira. Her kit is great for heals/escapes/getting elims on low hp stragglers. I can also switch off to zen and bap but almost always feel like I have less ability to impact the game in big ways. I can also play a couple dps pretty well, just prefer support so I can make sure we have the heal advantage.
I got drawn to Kiriko since I've been studying Japanese for a few years now. The challenge of playing her and getting the most out of her kit is fun, and I get to practice translating the things she says in Japanese.
@@mooseihas7468 Watch Anime(English sub), It has a lot of the Key words and phrases that you would use in everyday life in Japan, Then you could probably start taking Online Lessons -If you don't like anime Just go straight to lessons.
as an player who mains junkrat cuz demoman-like classes are fun + i mained him since the first game. LSHIFT + Right Mouse Click (your right btw) combo goes crazy
For the longest time I was a Moira one trick who tried to play her very balanced and be a DPS newb with her. Now if need be depending on the situation I can flex to Bap, Ana and even Brig if the need arises. I used to play a fair amount of Zen in OW1 but not much in this game and time around, I tend to play a more mobile healer most of the time since my team always wants to be out of my line of sight or randomly dive and not tell me shit.
@@0gsrV shoot now that the game has been out awhile lol. I can flex between Ana/Kiriko/Brig and Baptiste and get great value from all of them. All just depends on both team comps and map, still not playing much Zen lol.
You wanna play well? Pick at least: 3 DPS mains 2 Tank mains 2 Support mains For me, my mains are DPS: Soldier 76, Genji, Bastion. Soldier and Bastion are simple and easy to just pick up and play, but if I require a bit more maneuverability or I’m just getting destroyed because Bastion’s hit box is fucking massive, I can swap to Genji, he also counters Mauga and Bastion really well, so he’s a decent pick Tank: Mauga and Reinhardt, if my team needs help in fights, and not just staying alive, Mauga is reliable, especially since he can 1v1 EVERYONE, and will only struggle if hit with Ana’s nade or JQ’s ult. As for Reinhardt, he’s a solid counter for Dva and Zarya, as well as any tiny heroes that are hard to hit, and he’s also reliable for protecting the team Support: Zenyatta and Kiriko. Zenyatta’s ability to heal teammates and increase damage against enemies makes him a decent healer and an okay tank buster for when Bastion is either taken or just getting bullied. Kiriko’s suzu is also the best counter for status ailments, so screw off Ana, you won’t deny my team heals anymore
Im a tank main and I do think if you go for tank main you should atleast learn most of them. Except maybe for Doom/Ball and Junker at this moment. But can't wait till the 6th of december .... well probably gonna be later to finaly play Junker without dying to all other tanks . Ok I usually like these guides and they are pretty good but today .. Cassidy is absolutely not a long range hero , he's more mid-short range hero and the same go's for Hanzo. Goodluck with throwing your grenade from long range . How is it that Sojourn is not in the catagory breaking shields ? Its the easiest way to build up charge for her railgun. Pharah and Echo fly over the shields ... Hog is good on every map these days.
@@justusstanford7835 Many high ranked players put Hog in S tier . Simply because of that Kiriko meta is and what is hog his weakness that he cant turn around and heal when ana throws nade on him . Plus Kiriko ult and Hog go's brrrrrbrrrrrr so yes Hog is a good tank if not the best at the moment.
I play reaper, sojourn, soldier, hanzo, junk rat, torbijorn and tracer. So yeah, I’m chillin. I don’t really have an issue switching hit scan to non hit scan cause sojourn is my main and she has to do both all the time.
I main torb, he is a good up close and long range hero, the turret is really good if you know where to put it, and his overload is perfect for getting quick kills, with Molten Core being good for blocking objectives, I would say he is a good all rounder
im new to overwatch but have been rotating between 3 dps heroes; soujourn, reaper, and torb. torb is my go to on defense but there are certain counters that make it brutal to play him so i like having a backup i can switch to. i also like how they have fairly different roles so i can switch up between them based on enemy comp or just my mood
@@hoooty87 oh definitely. Ive found pharah to be a brutal counter to face on certain maps though. Much rather switch to soujourn to face her but generally yeh torb is quite versatile
moira, bastion and mercy main, also lots of pharah hours. I main them cause i can play them. since i can’t aim, characters like anna and widow maker were never options tbf.
As a new player for now I'm maining just the characters I like the most as characters or I feel like I can be good with it My mains for now are Rein and D.Va for Tanks, Lucio, Moira and Kiriko for support and even if I haven't played a lot of DPS I really like Echo even if she's pretty situational Also I'm a support main so I know when to play lucio, kiriko or Moira but I'll just stick to Rein for Tank, and I barely have played DPS and I'm still figuring out the heroes
genji is definitely my main but i usually try to have my fallback picks be whatever meta heroes are at the time. so currently i main genji but “semi-main” sojo and reaper my semi-mains that i used to play were season 1-2: mccree and reaper season 3: soldier i think this is a generally good approach that has served me well as with the ebbs and flows of the meta my hero pool slowly expands without coming at the cost of reduced skill on individual heroes due to spreading playtime too thin
Tanks i main- ball, winton, sigma. Semi mains are- dva, rein, orisa (working on junker queen) Dps mains- echo, mei, soldier (will switch to whoever works best with team comp or whoever counters the enemy best. Also will sometimes rage pick sym or sombra because I'm tired of having one or the other in every single comp game) Support mains- mercy, Ana, zen. Semi mains- moira, kiriko. Although i don't enjoy playing kiriko or moira, in some situations they call for it so i just deal with it. (will switch to brig or lucio if needed even though I'm still working on button layouts for lucio and just overall learning brig so am mid at best on them. Wanna be good with bap but his movement, gun, ult, and playstyle just feels off for me so i just avoid playing him. I'm not including lifeweaver because i feel it's rare to find a situation where he is necessary or that my teammates actually know how to play with a LW or how to capitalize on his utility that he provides. However, 100% would main him if these didn't apply.)
The thing that I love about overwatch is the way it encourages you to try every character. Every ow character is unique and you can tell how much detail was put into every aspect of their designs. It feels good when each character has a place and offers something different to a match. ❤
In support I main Baptiste, Moira 2nd, Lucio is my 3rd. I'm also decent with mercy and zenyatta. For dps, I'm pretty versatile, 6, Junkrat, and tracer are the main 3 use. For tanks, I've been maining Rammatra, orisa, JQ, and depending on the map I absolutely annihilate people with wrecking ball. Id really love to find an actual group of good players to be teams with. I'd love to join the tournaments circuit
Great video but I don't have selected mains I usually use hanzo and sombra for dps, zarya and orisa for tank's , for support's I play mercy and ana . I love movement and supporting in a long range. But I can see me in future like maining hanzo for ever, allways in every situation.
Lucio main. I don’t have many hours on different characters because I didn’t play much back in Overwatch days and even when I did it was mostly customs with my friends, but I’ve racked up 23 hours on Lucio in Overwatch 2 with my 2-4th most played all being 6 hours and a heavy drop off from there. 2-4 are Mercy, Junkrat, and Orisa. Most played in comp are Lucio, Mercy, and Moira. Once Ramattra comes out he might end up in my top 3 most played though. He looks like a lot of fun and he’s really powerful, so it’s a combination of enjoyment and definitive power.
For healers, I have 3 mains: Mercy, Moira, Bap For DPS: Symetra and Farah, but I can occasionally flex with Ashe or Sojourn For tanks: mainly Sigma and Orisa
I main Dva, Kiriko and Symmetra. Dva because shes the only character i recognised at first and the other 2 because of their voice lines. In particular, Symmetras Player Ultimate and Kirikos Enemy Ultimate (which i hope will be her player as an option later).
I have fun playing pharah but i can't play a hitscan because my aiming is for projectile heroes and i wanna get aiming for hitscan heroes but i can't because my aim is not smooth Edit:I miss so much shots as hitscan hero
My mains for each category are: Tank: Reinhardt and Sigma DPS: Reaper, Ashe, and Hanzo Support: Brigitte, Moira, and Zenyatta Working on learning Lucio since I learned how useful his kit can be in intense situations.
Been playing since 2016 and I can say my mains I feel comfortable playing with the most is Rein Doom Bap Dva Lucio reaper Soldier and Pharaoh. I think I have a pretty diverse cast for any situation.
I’m a Hanzo or Kiriko main but am pretty good at Lucio, Zenyatta, Moira, Winston,Briggite, Ana, Bastion, Mei, and Baptiste Edit: I can play all these characters at gold level or higher. Also I highly recommend learning Lucio as he is super viable in so many situations and he is my second most played hero(behind Hanzo who I currently have 30 hours in) and he is super fun and a good damage output while still being able to do insane levels of healing.
Great video, but you are giving advice to more mouse-keyboard players. Since I play on a Nintendo Swith, I am not able to use that. Would you be able to give advice to controller players?
I dont have any mains, some days i like playing one characters but the next week i dont. But for support i play mercy, lucio, moira, kirikio the most. For dps i play genji, ashe, torbjorn, and the others i rotate around, and last for tank i play sigma, reinhardt, ramatra and sometimes junker queen
I queue in all roles most of the time so I at least main one hero in each category. For tank I main DVa, for DPS I main Mei and then for support I main Moira. So basically I am playing Overwatch on easy mode lmao
I have a main for each role, for tank it's DVA, in damage it's Sombra and in support I main Zenyatta, which is my favorite because of the damage increase orb and the auto heal, plus for effective àre the orbs at long distance
I used to main Bastion, my poor boy got butchered. I've since taken to him again and endeavour to relearn and adapt. I just love the bot. I did a volatile switch over to "support main" but as a very aggressive Lucio (don't hate me). Now, I main Bastion, Lucio, Ramattra and learning Echo, Sojourn and looking at another support.
I am a support player and loves play support only. i just maining Kiriko, Baptiste, and Ana, sometimes play Lucio or Moira if only needed, but i doesnt like Zen and Lifeweaver playstyle
I main Tracer and Bastian for damage so far, and my favorite tank to main is DVa. I find that I am not very adept at using healers right now, but I hope to get better at it. Any suggestions for which may be the best one for me to learn based on my current mains?
A thing I'm gonna mention is that if you're going to learn symm learn mei to! There's a lot of situations that the enemy team choose anti sym heros but those heroes can do nothing against mei and sym and mei have similar play style
personally started like 3 weeks ago and started maining sombra 5 days ago and wherever i go i get blamed for not doing well but i usually just ignore them some people rage out insanely fast and try to make it all team fault acting like they are perfect and don't make mistakes, everyone is strong in words on internet because they can do it without consequences. and fr i don't understand where i am supposed to practice if i get trash talked on unranked matches
for tank I main zarya DPS cassidy genji and Hanzo and for support I play Zenyatta Im new to the game but so far I have enjoyed playing these characters
I really like Main Junker Queen ando wrecking ball for tanks and for DPS I like soldier 76 and ashe for support only Moira just fell really Bad since overwatch 1 I liked doomfist but not they Best.
