I have been playing the piano now since January 2019 and started off by teaching my self through RU-vid and other apps. Since august 2020 I have finally been learning with a great teacher and have made allot of progress and I hope I keep moving forward. Thanks for watching :)
i have been learning this piece for maby around 2 or 3 months but i dont think theres bot much more i can do to improve the piece. when i started learning it i practice really badly and always played the same mistaces over and over and its really not possible to fix now. but ive recently improved allot in my practicing and will hopefully post better recordings from now on :)

Fantastic work! Especially for self taught. I've been doing self taught piano for 2 yrs now, and this has inspired me to think about getting a teacher.

@@JakobArnar yeah I will, I have videos on my channel of my playing. Do you think based on the progress I've made so far I'd be able to get to the point where I can start things like the 2nd scherzo in a year (if a get a teacher)? Because I feel like I've made good progress on my own, and a lot of the things holding me back could be fixed by a teacher. But I'm still not sure how much of a difference it'd make.

@@JG_1998 yeah man no doubt! you technique is already great and i believe you could play scherzo 2 soon :) but dont rush it, its better to play many chopin pieces first before you play a big one like the scherzo :)

@@JakobArnar thank you! ive been wondering if it my technique was good or not, I have no way of knowing on my own lol. And I will definitely not start with the scherzo. So far I know Chopin etude op 25 no.2, and im working through the nocturne op 9 no.1 and etude op 10 no .12. I feel like I need to learn maybe one more etude, but the problem is I tend to find those harder since it's the same difficult technique repeated over and over, rather than some hard passages spread throughout a longer form piece (like the scherzo).

I have long held that one reason we appear to be entering another golden age of the piano is because of the benefits of RU-vid. Back in my day, the only reliable source of listening were recordings. And here you are, basically self-taught through RU-vid playing Chopin's Scherzo No 2 in Bb minor! What an achievement! Jakob, this is beyond impressive. A brilliant performance of this very difficult scherzo, particularly in the toughest parts. My only suggestions would be to emphasise the bass in the cadence at the end of the first subject and to use less rubato in the slower parts. Very good overall though.

Are you going to a conservatory? And another question when you practise so much, well it seems like you do. Aren’t you getting injured. Or how do you deal with that I’m playing for 2 years now and because im not playing that long yet, but also quite difficult pieces multiple hours a day sometimes I just do a weards thing and my pinky hurt for 2 weeks or my wrist for a month. Well yeah that. Btw your playing is really good, if your going to do an audition I’d be curious to know your auditioning program.

I go to a type of music highschool in iceland if that makes sense hahah. but yeah i get injured allot. I have tennis elbows in both hands and when i was playing funerailles I hurt my wrist really bad. but im really happy it happened because I used that opportunity to learn to relax my hands when playing. it was very difficult in my new video, the op 10 no 4 to stay relaxed but because my elbows were hurting everytime i did something wrong I could fix the problem right away :) i wont be auditioning anytime soon btw hahah

actually im sooo criticist when it comes to playing piano im also pianist first course student of conservatory XD i even criticise my performings everytime cuz there is always something better possible ... u was playing it soooo lazy sometimes im not talking about tempo plus ur hands was still struggling at searching chords plus there was thousand of details u messed if we judge it at professional level but seriously... the way how u were enjoying ur performance was sooo great and make me also to enjoy it XDD good job bro keep practising

this was played at a time when i had no clue how to practice so i just played stuff over and over again untill it kind of worked, probably one of my worse recording lol. but im working on it allot now and i think the progress is showing in the pieces im learning now and in my more recent recordings :) also the scriabin sonata that im uploading in a few days
