I learned this piece about a year ago, there's such a wide variety of interpretation amongst pianists with this specific waltz it's insane

Agreed. This specific waltz has soooo many interpretations. It’s funny though when I try to interpret my own way my teacher does NOT like it. She’s very much a traditionalist :/

@@feichantang5283 la tonalidad de la canción, se produce una modulación a su paralelo mayor, esto conlleva cambios en los grados de esa tonalidad y agrega nuevas funciones a los acordes y más sensaciones a la obra

You introduced me to this piece on the first take. The second take is much better than the first take in my taste. The chromatic part of the A section is quieter than the first one, which is the best thing I can see you improved in this take.

@@TheFlamingPiano thats weird first time i listented to this song was on the first take and i fell in love with how you phrased the chromatic part. later i listened to many different versions and couldnt find anyone who accentuaded the chromaticisim like you. im not sure why but i love it

Such a beautiful Waltz, and you play it... beautifully like always, even better now. This piece is very special to me because this was my very first classical piece that I learned until finished and I learned it from the original score, not the simplified version, with your 1st take video as the guidance. And as a noob, it was quite challenging, but I enjoyed every bit of it. ❤

I'm in the process of doing the same thing! I just have the left hand of the major section left to learn. It's also my first classical piece on piano, and I was also inspired by the first video. I can't play it nearly as well as this but I feel proud of how far I've come. Love these videos. So helpful to learn correct fingering.

Chopin wanted this waltz to be burned up and destroyed after his death. I'm glad it survived.

@@Chopinmybeloved Chopin only published 8 of his waltzes. It was in his will to have all of his unpublished works destroyed, but thankfully his sister had the good sense to not do that (Sorry, Chopin, but some people appreciate your music more than you do). A few of the waltzes were lost in a house fire, and some of the lost ones only have the first few bars surviving, since his sister copied the first line of them into a notebook for whatever reason.

One of few songs I instantly like on first time listening to. Other examples: moonlight sonata 1/3 mvt, marche funebre, ballade no 1 and string quartet death and the maiden by Schubert the andante con moto.
