Joe Tex - papa was too... nice break! Lord Finesse chopped that shit iller than anybody I've ever heard on the Stretch Armstrong show... he brought the SP1200 on the show live and rocked over it with KRS-ONE... was amazing!
Man I can't wait until I get my hands on a PHYSICAL drum machine. I've been using software to make beats, it's time to step up! Thanks for the tutorial. I don't know what I'm going to end up with, though. MPC, Korg, Akai, etc. X
@coughlintm The 303 has long load times for truncating and save, change sample pad location, pretty much every action takes a little bit of time. The 404 is almost instant, it is a lot faster, more pads, more memory, more banks, cards are a lot easier to find. If I could have only one it would be the 404. The 303 has a lower bit rate when sampling so it sounds a little warmer / dirtier. You can make the 404 sound dirty with different technics.
it has a card reader but it is smart media and you cant put a card in bigger than 512mb, so they are kinda hard to find. You can save some samples on the card and recall them.
Can you save your samples on this thing for later and start with a clean slate the next day for another sample session? I know it auto saves what you have in it, so what is the save function for??? I want to use this as my main sample collector this winter but I don't understand the saving.
Hey man, thx for showing us that. Will you do a vid for 303 explaining the quantize function? Or what I really want to know is how someone can make bass lines on the 303. If you could show us how to make bass lines on the 303... You will achieve thunder god status.
how do you mace it auto record your samples i have read that it can do that u set the aomunt on of volume and when a red light blinks it autmatic records
Thanks for the response. I know it has a card reader and I have a 512 card. How do I save and recall some samples? I know holding cancel and pressing C or D does a save(backup) function does this save all 32 sounds? How come if I save then clear the banks to sample some more, my saved file is gone? Seems like the machine was designed weird or something.
hey man. i saw in one of your other videos you said it didn't go larger than 128mb? can you get as high as 512 for sure? thanks and thanks for the videos.
hey dr jack . after you chop the sample break . say you wanna record your loop with the drum you sampled . how do you go about that and save your work ???? thanks
Good job on the tutorial. Eff the dumb. Learning how to master a limited machine and letting the machine serve you to make music is straight up hip hop (remember what Prince Paul said about using machines not made for hip hop but making those things into hip hop).
There not discont. GUITAR CENTER STILL SELLS THEM NEW- I DONT KNOW WHERE YOURE AT IN IN MI. I GOT A GREAT SONY VAIO 2G RAM, DUAL CORE, ETC,ETC 350 OPEN BOX NUFF SAID
