A group of young shopping mall employees stay behind for a late night party in one of the stores. The couple at the beginning of the movie who talk about getting the robots for their restaurant are from EATING RAOUL. It's a great movie by the same director as DEATH RACE 2000, and you guys NEED to watch it. Paul Bartel made it with film left over from shooting movies with Corman. So good, and it's on the Criterion Collection.

Looking at the set makes me miss going to the video rental stores as a kid, especially during Halloween. It was great to just browse through all the crazy covers of the movies and video games and they way I would learn if they were worth buying... Great memories ❤️

A few years ago I rented Chopping Mall when I was trying to watch all the campy 80s horror movies that aren't the most popular ones. I watched it three times and eventually bought it. I love it.

As a Japanese, it's nice to see these Tokusatsu videos sitting in front of James, the blue one is "Godzilla Raids Again", the red one says "Complete edition of unreleased Tokusatsu films", and standing one is "Terror of Mechagodzilla". I've never into Godzilla movies, but Tokusatsu shows were big part of my childhood. Instant nostalgy. Anyway, good video as always! Thanks guys!

The Sherman Oaks Galleria was a magical place - spent much of my childhood there. It was shut down due to structural damages caused by the '94 Northridge earthquake, and was eventually torn down and a new "open air" mall was built in its place.

That mall is Sherman Oaks Galleria. A guy that I used to work with lived close to it and had been there many times before he moved to Florida. We were talking about old horror movies and Chopping Mall came up, that’s when he told me where it was filmed. I heard there was plans to remake Chopping Mall some time ago, but so far I haven’t been able to find anything else out on it.

One of the people cracking jokes in the front is Mary Woronov. She's a B horror movie Legend IMO. TerrorVision, Rock & Roll High, Death Race 2000, Night of the Comet, and even has a small cameo role in The Devil's Rejects. She deserves more love for her extensive body of work.

I remember seeing this when i was super young. Was on late night movies on basic cable. Thing was the comercial anouncer called It by one of its alternate titles "Killbots". So for the longest time i was trying to find it and couldn't. Wasn't till a couple years ago i found out it was called "Chopping Mall" here.

I haven't seen this in 25+ years, but still remember the boob scene in this movie. I even remember what she said (upon exposing herself): "Hurry back". They should use boob-subliminals to improve education in school. I saw it when I was 12 and that part of the tape was suspiciously worn out. So, whoever watched it (once I was done with it) experienced a jumpy picture in that scene. I guess I wrecked it for the next guy.
