Choreographer Reacts to ATARASHII GAKKO! - KOI NO SHADANKI First Time Reaction! 

Their original indie label was really a Jazz label and paired AG up with many of their existing acts. The combination was fabulous. Their current label has turned them into a hip hop group, but their uniqueness still shines through. Awesome reaction.

Thanks! Pretty creative choreography and dancing for 16 to 19 year olds (at that time). Love Breaker... a pretty simple song lyrically about betrayal. Suzuka confides in Mizyu about a boy she really likes, and then Mizyu steals him away, explaining that he asked her out, so she had no choice. At the end, they act out the lyric about the railway gate closing, separating them and breaking their friendship. Now on to Giri Giri, pretty please!

As for the song title, '恋の遮断機', Suzuka has sung it as 'Koi no Shadanki' at 9:29, the end part. 'Shadanki' (遮断機) means 'railways croossing gates, breakers, or blockers'. Also at 9:47, the end of the song, AG expresses the 'Love Breaker', or the theme of the song through the choreos. It's a very unexpected song name, and that's already enough to get me interested, with a jazz arrangement, ha. The girls were already and really talented at that young time. I love their early days, those poisonous, a little humorous, and cool songs, lol. Please check the lyrics to understand the whole song and the whole dance. As for H ZETTRIO, it is a talented jazz trio of piano, bass and drums and are well known to those in the know in Japan. It seems to play in the same formation on this song as well. I also found out about the band through AG and went to the band's live show last year, and it was fantastic. The core member on the piano, H ZETT M, was the producer until AG's second album (and this song). 88 Rising, with whom AG is currently signed up, has an introductory short video to help us understand the song. There is also some live videos with an introductory skit by the girls (with English subtitles) on AG's offcial YT channel. And it is not this song, but has a live video of AG performing with H ZETTRIO on YT (Ookami no Uta, The Poem for a Wolf, 狼の詩).

Big band swing was an early form of jazz that was the pop music of its time. It's influences are ragtime, blues,and African music. It made it to Japan and opened the door for all jazz. Now Japan is the biggest market for Jazz. They've added elements from their music. The blues never really made it to Japan. One interesting feature of current Japanese pop and rock are the elements of jazz. If you hear some blues in a J-rock song it was influenced either by jazz(which has blues origins)or our rock(which is blues based). So Japan music is rarely influenced directly by the blues.

This is definitely late comment but the premise of the song is betrayal... Suzuka confessed to Mizyu about a boy she likes, but he ends up with Mizyu instead... There's a short video with subtitles on RU-vid going over the first of of the song
