my family & friends used to gift me their hand me downs (clothes furniture etc) which I used to accept because I'm quite poor & I thought they were trying to help me.... until I realized the "gifts" they were just giving me was just old junk that they didn't want & wanted to get rid of!!! I also noticed that's exactly how these people saw me; as worthy of junk. So I politely stopped accepting hand me downs (which quietly pisses them off) & damn do I feel better about myself, no longer accepting other people's actual trash as "gifts"

When someone showers you with gifts unexpectedly, look out for when they ask you for something they know you don't want to do for them, and be ready when they use the gifts as emotional leverage.

A gift can be a trojan horse. The gift of confusion, jelousy, forgetfulness, and anger. It comes wrapped up but it given over time. You don't see it coming till you are "thick in it!"

I once worked for an old white lady as a housekeeper. She taught me a lot of lesson ...each time people give her gifts she would throw outside. I used to wonder because she is a gifter. 2 years later i fell ill...something was carrying bad energy in my house. The spirit told me to clear out my space. I was surprised with the amount of things i threw out i didnt buy myself or brand new or gifted. I ended up in hospital with mental breakdown. I will never accept gifts from people (friends)...i take and throw away if people insist. Mirrors should never be bought second hand or gifted too. Never trust people intentions 💯

I wanted to be a cop but after working as a security officer at 18 yo in the number 2 cam room in a general hospital and entertained numerous officers in my office during brakes mine or theirs mostly sheriff's and lapd . They would test me minf blown because of how much I knew in regards to laws radio codes PC codes etc unfortunately I also had to listen to them Bragg about criminals to them victims to me . ...long story short I was disillusioned what they were, was something I could never be. Bullies I saw suddenly liers tyrants hypocrits all things I refuse to be and couldn't ever be.

Still, you can cleanse the gifts: spiritually and physically. And the personal attached items you can forget (aka detach; aka giving no meaning) or you can „overwrite“ with new memories. But thank you for the reminder. Listening to your own heart is indeed important.

A man years ago was standing outside of an antique furniture store holding a candelabra. He asked me did I want it as though he had to give it to another person. I refused it, and he looked so troubled, it was as if it had to passed to another, at least that was the feeling I got. He could have easily taken it into the store, but he was outside offering it, and as I got into my car and pulled off he was still standing there holding it. There is no telling what kind of demons was attached to that thing, and attached to him.

I recently got rid of some records that no longer served me. Having grown up listening to primarily punk and metal, some of these records no longer reflected my spiritual and moral beliefs. I feel so much better that I have gotten rid of these items. They reflected a person who had not grown. Getting rid of these items was certainly a firm commitment to the beliefs I currently hold. I am putting the money I received from selling these items towards grad school. Nice video.

I don't accept gifts from those who I don't know personally. My gut feeling always tells me the truth and I listen very closely to it.

I feel good or bad energy with books. When aligned, feels like I see author’s ideas and words on page’s sitting on the self.

I listen to my Intuition.

The truly hard part is looking in to see that we too have passed on these gifts to others. The unrequited affection, the uninvited blessings, the unintended passing of energy while we seek to unburden our own lives. How many times did one of my gifts cause unease? Unsettling but a step that must be taken These gifts don't come from nowhere, they come from us.

Had a vision in my early teens, was told to never wear gold, much of it has the energy of suffering attached to it. A couple of years later I received an unexpected gift from an uncle, a gold necklace. I refused to wear it and got a lot of pressure to wear it mostly from a particular person. I never gave in and never wore it. Decades later i found out that uncle had tried to murder me twice when I was a young child and the person who pressured me to wear the necklace was the one who put the idea in his head and encouraged him. Why would someone who tried to do away with me buy me an expensive gift? It was cursed.

Having a whole house full of items to contend with after the passing of my parents is a daunting task i have left much of to my sisters. They thinking i am trying to get out of my share of the work harbor anger towards me for keeping my distance. Too many bad memories from my youth

Especially those who sell out your goals so they can be celebrity famous or control the things you work for.

Yeah some gifts are a poisoned chalice. If you dont generally have a good relationship with a person....dont accept the gift. Ive experienced this with close family members who were toxic. We always think gift giving is a kind thing and we associate it with love...but if a person has never shown love or care to you....dont trust the gift even if its something you really wanted or needed. Also when people you dont know start bombarding you with gifts...eg a new relationship......dont accept the gift/trap.

I think you skipped the most toxic category, at least to me and throughout my life : Gifts from people expecting a service or anything else in revenge. They come up with a gadget you couldn't care less about and want you to solve all of their problems. And the first time you refuse they'll have their list of gifts at hand, ready to drag you down to unknown depths of guilt and shame.

Someone gave me a beautiful gift she owned for many decades she loved and wanted me to have. She's cleaning out her home to downsize. I felt uneasy from the time I brought it home, which i didn't understand because it was nice and of my personal taste. I still don't know why it made me feel uneasy. It just did.

I usually always write down my dreams as I have a dream journal and I love the vivid dreams that are detail oriented. I recently had a dream of a gift that was an object linked to sports. And it was a form of disguise to release chaos mgck. I know this was trying to tell me something directly or indirectly. That is why is so important to know who and what you’re saying “yes” to. People who are not aware don’t have a clue about what people are doing behind closed doors, this is why the greatest gift is that of memories and not something that is tangible that can be attached to you. It’s all fun and games because you will think this sort of things don’t happen until it happens to you. I suggest chucking anything out that even raises your suspicions. Go through your past events, if things started suddenly happening like chaos, bad luck, evil eye etc after something was given to you, you need to get rid of that item immediately. Also same goes for the things handed down, energy is in everything and everywhere, you have to be selective not only who stays in your life but what objects stay in your life. Broaden your mind a bit, even items bought from someone else, you don't have a clue where it’s come from and what sort of history is attached to it. Gift giving was a big thing in ancient times and so was mgck that is why you would always hear the stories of possessions, adultery, curses etc…. My mom would spend hundreds of dollars on literally dollar store junk, she would gift all this junk. Christmas and birthdays open boxes and boxes of junky stationary, plastic plants, novelty items, plastic tableware. Etc. It made no sense until I realized metaphorically she wanted my mind to be cluttered with junk (gaslighting).

I had a 'fake friend' who was working with an occult group against me. She gave me a bunch of stones from her travels to Mexico. I didn't want them and I accepted them. 2 days later I got super sick and had just started a job...1 month later my dog almost died and did after 30 days of living....she was lending me the money to pay his vet bills...I then almost died 45 days later and kept returning after 2 misdiagnosis....I threw the stones into the bushes and you should see how much they grew in just one year - RIDICULOUS....I don't accept gifts anymore. Years ago a woman my mother was associated with went to England. She was gifted a small ornamental owl by her cousin she was visiting. She later went home and found everything she did ended up in disaster. Her kids disowned her and her husband passed from brain cancer she moved to the condo where my mother met her and all of her furniture was destroyed by the moving company very expensive furniture. She went to her catholic priest and he asked her about her trip and asked her if she was gifted anything; she showed him the owl and with a little investigating he discovered a druid coven that her cousin was in. The Catholic priest did an exorcism on her with my mother present and it was successful. Owls as it turns out are pagan as are crystals.

I used to pick up bulk items and there was a huge unicorn stuffed animal and my 6 year old is never terrified of stuffed animals but this one , I felt that it wasn’t supposed to be in my house and my child told me she doesn’t want it and to throw it away . She would cry of how scared she was of the stuffed animal . I did throw it away. I do feel differently anout feeling how others feel but I keep it to myself and it’s not just anyone. It only comes to me certain times and it’s not a voice it’s something I can’t explain but I only talk to my oldest daughter about the intuitions I get. I will just sound crazy if I talk about it.

I'd just like to add...if you have an item that has bad energy and/or history attached to it, but still want to keep it because of other reasons (such as usefulness, aesthetic, etc) and you are at a good place in your spiritual journey, you can energetically cleanse and then bless the item. There are Many methods to do this. I have done this now with a number of items from exes that I could feel the sadness and bad energy on. Most recently a really cool looking pair of sunglasses that I'd had put away for 4 years! I did a very simple blessing and Immediately felt the change. I wear them now without any bad energy or thoughts. That's just a small example. Truly some items just need to go, but personally, I DO NOT want to give them to others if they have bad mojo. I once bought a painting of a woman in a dia de Los Muertos-esque style from my cousin. I felt bad energy from it. So much so I prayed over it and rebuked the spirits on it. Their house was negative, not really in a malicious way, but people in and out all the time. I could only gather his spirit or the canvas he painted on that was used may have emmited these energies.

I purchased 4 items from a Narcissist and when I tell you...things went south 0 to 1000 she put so many lies on me and even tried to make me lose my apartment and a ton of other things until I decided whatever she sold me which she told people that she gave it to me and everything she sold stopped working and I gave everything away and found that out and I blessed my apartment and I was given a big big mirror from another person and I put it in the corner by my bedroom door and I looked into but I said out loud looks like I can walk inside of the mirror like a portal and at that very moment my oldest son called and asked what I was doing and I showed him the mirror via video chat and he said Ma that looks like a Portal and to get it out of my apartment and seconds later the woman in the downstairs apartment went crazy on me for no reason like she was possessed and I took the mirror out my apartment and prayed to rid any entities out of my apartment and I stopped accepting things from people and even when our and about certain things give me a negative vibe and it's items in the store for sale
