lynxord I'm not sure where you are located at so I can't really direct you anywhere, but my mantis comes from traditional Chow Ga background

iexcalibui2 I'm in Idaho. Just 30 miles outside of Boise so I don't have very many places to learn Kung Fu of any sort here. I recognized the Chow Ga form, it's my favorite. Is there a specific person you learned under or from or are you mostly self taught? You seem like you've become exceptionally good either way.

lynxord I don't know any schools out there of the top of my head, maybe an internet search might be more helpful

iexcalibui2 Yeah I've tried. I found a great Wing Chun center and we have several Kung Fu centers but they usually don't teach mantis or if they do it takes a long time before you get to that level. Other than that there's plenty of MMA places around. I'm just learning a little at a time xD

Haha Honestly I don't know what you mean. Bare with me I'm a little inexperienced so I'm not very familiar with the jargon in martial arts yet. I probably didn't ask my question very well either. But just in the intro to your videos the hand motions you use are very cool. If my understanding of your question is correct then yes forms are sequences of san sau. So basically I was wondering which sau it was specifically. I think that's what I mean. Love your videos btw. I'd like to see more!

lynxford, that sequence is from one of Chow Gar's early basic forms, but it's hard to see exactly which because of the "artistic" editing. Saam Bo Pai Kui, I think, though possibly Saam Bo Pin Kui, probably from both, as he's edited in cuts from him doing different things.

@@varanid9 No, it's Sam Jin Yiu Kiu; Sam JIn means 3 stretches or 3 strikes and Yiu Kiu means shaking bridge or shake off the bridge (arm).
